GGGs reasoning on not making a SFL
So wtf are you here ? =P
SFL is self found league
not solo self found league
PoE "sfl" would work much like the way it did in d2
and lol at the people saying shit like
"finding items should be rewarding"
"improving finding experience"
SFL is not for most people its a grind fest of endlessness there is little fun or rewarding for it... and people like me enjoy playing the offline versions like D2 for the RNG of the game... i have probly ran pits on my holy shock zeal pally easly over 3000 times hoping i will get somthing that i will never get
and if they were to make a SFL in PoE dont even need to increase the drop rates... take a page from d2 commands /players 6

Not sure why people are debating whether it's SF or not to trade between chars. If you want to do it, fine. If not, don't. I just want to be able to accrue my own gear by finding it myself either way. If I choose to put it in my stash for another of my characters to use then that doesn't diminsh the fun of having found it myself.
Because for a SFL is to be even considered,a self found character needs to be defined and rules need to be applied for the league.
regardless of where a character gets the gear from,if it didn't acquire it on its own steam then the character is not self found and nothing it finds in the future will be self found and all characters sharing the stash in this way will also be not self found.
Even the original highest level character may not be solo self found if it's being fed orbs from a horde of characters following in the shadow of its footsteps.
rules,they're what define a game. =P
Is there something wrong with just disabling trade chat and increasing drops? I'm sure most SFL could get behind that. The more rules you start throwing in there the more people get dissatisfied with what they got.
Sharing your stash with your own characters is something that people can decide for themselves, I'd say.

Lol D2 didnt have a SFL. You enver played D2 have you? And SFL accounts would be sold so there goes the ladder progression. So much for anti RMT league which some of you think it would be.

A word of warning.
In PoE, an achievement is paying someone 20 ex for a boss kill, for this you will be rewarded with a limited edition MTX. In PoE an 'extremely challenging achievement' is completing a shopping list, for this you will be rewarded a T-shirt.
The head man at GGG (along with more if not all of them) has stated several times that there is no awesome, no fun, in finding items to use. The fun and awesome comes in finding something to sell. The man who said "it comes back to the core aRPG thing where the reason you value the items is because other people 'want them'".
The word achievement is lost in PoE, self-finding fun doesn't exist in PoE.
Using the two together in a post is double Dutch.
You are correct, I meant as a personal achievement, but didn't word it right :).

Contesting Sexcalibure for hyperbole king? :P
What part do you find to be untrue and not the status quo ?
Trade is all encompassing in POE.
I can name at least dozen anti self founders with a better claim to the hyperbole tag.But then again, not having any supporter badges and giving names could very well see me probated or banned. lol

Without defining rules there cannot be a league,it's simply a free for all.

I don't give a shit about RMT. I don't care if people sell their accounts. What you do on your own account doesn't concern me.

I just suggested the rules. Disable trade chat, increase drops.

Whether there could be a self found league in POE without being solo is debatable.
D2 had no league for self found,it did have a ladder which was not self found.I too played D2 self found and mostly solo,it didn't make a SFL a fact.
D2 was never designed with trade as a key development feature and indeed was designed to be completely playable offline.
POE offers no such avenue,it's always online and designed around an economy which requires a top, middle and bottom *class* of players to fuel it.
As much as I loved D2,POE is not and never will be that game.

wtf did i just read....
they had a "sfl" but it was not called self found league...
i dont even....
i all most want to post the d2 forums that still has 100s of people playing d2 on a self found play style of them posting there walks from act1 normal to hells endless pits/ lower kurast runs then posting there drops and finds on the way... and RMT has nothing to do with wanting a SFL

If the stash is shared then following characters taking from it will not be solo self found and riding of the back of muling/twinking and NOT finding stuff themselves to use.
SFL does not, nor has it ever meant, that a player cannot use a shared stash. It also doesn't mean players can't party.
A solo, non-shared stash SFL would be a subset of an SFL, just as a square is a subset of rectangles.
Self-found means the player found it themselves - NOT the character found it themselves. Altering it to a Solo Character Found League (SCFL) would require drops tailored to the character and a specialized stash structure.
If someone doesn't like SFL, or thinks SFL is a bad idea - that's a valid opinion. Inaccurate declarations of what SFL is are not valid, and when used to criticize the game constitute a strawman argument.
