Heavy Summoner Arc Witch Guide [ Video Included ]

What is the best place to stop leveling clarity?

I think lvl 16 is too high...
Two trains of thought for that:
1. For normal use, stop when your mana regen with Clarity activated is around 125mps. This allows you to sustain Arc (supported with Elemental Proliferation/Faster Casting) spam, yet gives you extra mana just in case you need to spam zombies.
2. For maps with 50% slower mana recovery, level Clarity until you have just enough mana available after reserving for auras that you barely have enough to cast your most expensive spell (which should be around 250 mana, depending on what support gems you have on your Skellies).

I'm currently level 62 and in the early parts of Act 3 Merciless. I find it pretty tough. Sometimes mobs just run past my zombie wall and straight toward me and I have to kite like crazy. Other times those serpent dudes just deal damage to EVERYONE, and i get instagibbed.

i'm following snowhammer's build and i guess my gear is ok. Rocking a 4L helm for my zombies with +1 to minion gems, boots of ullyr or whatever its called with 4L for my clarity/purity/reduced mana/conductivity, 4L gloves with wrath and other stuff, spell damage wand with my arc/proliferation/faster casting, shield with skellies/totem/life and then chest with 6sockets but only 4 links, running LMP/spectre/damage/life.

Should i just farm a zone like fellshire instead? At this point i dont know if I can clear act 3 content. not sure if its my resists or what

Also, for armor/shield, what stats should i be looking for? I assume spell damage/energy shield is something that I want to prioritize but if i'm not speccing into talents that improve energy shield, wouldn't HP be better?

Apologies if this has come up, I didnt read the entire thread...but on the first page you recommend Faster Casting on Skeleton Totem. I found this is very bad once the gem hits about level 15. You summon too fast and the Skellies are replaced before they can pop and this is a major DPS loss. The moment I replaced that gem with Minion Life, my overall performance went through the roof.
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
My build this far!

Do you think going with CI instead of health would be better if you get a set of energy shield gear? What do you guys think? With that new change to CI, would be interesting.

Hey guys, there's a new unique shield out which is godly for Skellies. +2 to Skellies and minion damage easily outweighs whatever you would have in a 4th slot of a 4L. Not to mention the 10% increased aura effectiveness for all your minions is quite good as well.

The downside is you lose the 24% to all resist from an archon shield, plus whatever stats it had in terms of health, chaos resist, whatever else.

I do think CI, when geared well, is better than health. Imo the problem is that CI gear is such a pain in the ass to find. You have to hope items roll the int only item type, and then hope they roll well on +% ES and +max ES, not to mention any other stats you want. As you can imagine all these factors aligning is quite rare.

Farm up until you level your Zombie/Skelly gem, then give it another shot. What Spectres are you using? Cruel Flame Sentinels? Keep in mind some parts are just awful for summoners, like the bridge area in Act 1 with the jumping goatmen and the lava dogs and explode into lava and kill all your minions.

For armor, survivability (health and resists) is the most important trait. Other traits that you might consider are mana regen, cast speed, and spell damage.

Not sure where to spend my points next...

Currently level 70.

My gear:

Spoiler

HP: 2920
ES: 367
Armor: 1258
Resists: 77 All (-60% chaos)

My choices:

1.) Grab the chaos resist nodes.

2.) Go further into the templar tree and grab Discipline and Training. This would also add a little armor.

3.) ?

I know my gear sucks. I'm trying to find upgrades but not many people selling high level gear.

Get the 16% chaos resist node near EB. You'll probably have to reshape that side of the tree to do it. Get one of the 30 dex nodes if you need dex. Connect your tree along the bottom, and respec the 4 points on the left witch start node to gain a net one point.

Past that, go with option 2, making sure to pick up Body and Soul, it's just too good of a node to pass up.

You need to find a +2 minion helm, it is incredibly good. Additionally, Boots of Ullr is very good as well.

When I paste in the build link it says you have an invalid build!

Yeah, I'm trollin, but learn how to make proper links if you want to save space :P

tinyurl makes it look like a scam <_<
Brutus. Do you even sync?
I'm wanting to do something like this. Level 44 so far, still picking up all the minion stuff. I'm doing this in default (Not getting anywhere near manmode in this game until all the desync stuff is fixed) - but what do you think about CI on arc summoner? I feel that with the new buff to CI it's viable, and before I dedicate myself to too many HP nodes (I got some already on this character just to prevent being one shot before I go CI, and I'll regret out of it if I decide to)

What changes? Comments? Is Body and Soul worth going into instead of all those other energy shield nodes in the middle?
