Seems I am letting this godlike elemental ring go...

I really don't need the DPS, I am over cap with cold resist, and started finally to stack that chaos resist. :>

While I lose 800 DPS or something by doing that, I think it's worth it for the chaos resist + maxing lightning. While endurance charges give you +5% resists, it's good idea to get capped resists so you can complete elemental weakness -maps with ease. The endurance charges keep you capped at 80% then.

It really doesn't make a difference if your base DPS is past 13k or 12k, unbuffed.

It's the curses that make the massive difference.

Completed my first 72 map, which I did alone. No deaths.
It was increased attack/casting/movement speed and increased monster life, I reckon.

Basically everything got one shotted, except magic/rare monsters that take 3 to 8 attacks, final boss (spider at jungle). That isn't really that long time with more than 2 attacks per second.

Although I had alchemists in, the desyncing with charging Rhoas, caused more issues.

Single charge from a big one, with full endurance charges, still causes roughly 1k damage. Glad I am sitting on 3k with auras up. Still plenty of life nodes to go for...

Good thing they can't charge twice in row / standing next to you. :)

hey im thinking of using this build for my templar.

would you say this build can only shine end game or is it fairly simple to progress?

also why did you choose to use two-handed over 1h + shield? can you explain some of the advantages because i feel that end game chars should all use 1h+shield for optimum damage+usability

I haven't really played the game much, just reading around forums to see what i can learn before i start playing properly

so it'd help if you can clarify on these questions =)

Yeah, I can only agree there. ;)

This build is definitely an end game build, but then again I think all decent builds are.

Your early / mid game AoE won't be that strong, but I didn't feel this an issue. Later on, when you have some fire damage %, the Infernal Explosion AoE will start to shine big time, not to mention the three curses you'll be running around. Early game/mid game you are very hard to kill though, since you have so much life % around you.

I simply chose 2 handers for the fact, that "it was common knowledge", that 2 handers and melee sucked. Always enjoyed playing something different. Had to try, if it's doable. Seems so!

2 handers have massive damage and this far I really don't see any reason why I would run 1h + shield in softcore. I can solo 72 maps (highest I've this far managed to get my hands on) with relative ease with 2h, so why on earth would I swap to something else.

Many enemies in the game actually give you a chance to attack them once or twice, before they actually attack you. In hardcore, the story might be very different. Pretty sure, I'd start running 1h+shield there, depending how comfortable I was feeling progressing.

At this point, I feel the curses are so OP, that EVERY single build in the whole game, no matter which class you play - should run with triple curses.
