...::: [1.1.0] TK's ST CoC Shadow aka THE WELDER :::...

You are right about crit - each thrown dagger can and will induce several chains of linked spells - just watch my later vids and see frequency of casting when large group is attacked.

You won't need power charges, gear that you need with this build is not expensive and it could work nicely with even cheaper. You don't need rat's nest helm or spell damage on daggers - for minimal budget just get 9%+ chc daggers with whatever stats, normal helmet and whichever 5L chest. It will still be better then PCoC variant, especially without LMP.

Oh you actually want to use both attacks? Imo unnecessary but try it out.

Thanks for the reply!

I looked at some of the videos, but there is so much going on that it is very hard to say what caused the spells to go off and where you are critting. I was worried ST didn't work the same way for crit rolls.

As discussed in another thread I had going in which you also replied, I had forgotten the global crit on daggers applies to all and with the 125% added crit from the dual wield nodes, I can probably get over 60% crit early on with my budget gear which is a good start. I didn't want to wait until level 75 to be effective and wanted to try it out as early as possible.

I came up with the 2 attacks trying to find a way to get power charges actually. Had to find something I could fit in a 4L at most, and since PCoC is only a chance to get, I figured I might as well try to get some damage in there (CoC has a higher proc chance to PCoC). Plus keeping a levelled EK would help on reflect packs. I'll put this on the side for now and focus on getting the 5L to work.

Thanks again! Can't wait to start this little project now!
At roughly what crit % are people switching to CoC?

Any particular reason you stop leveling clarity at level 6?
You can easily sustain your mana pool because ST mana cost is just low, and it costs less hp reserved.

Should we lvl ST to lvl 19? I mean our dmg all come form link spell. So it's fine to lvl it to 5?
CoC switch; when you go over 60-70% chc.

Clarity at lvl 6 - yea, because it's enough. More you level it, more life you must reserve.

You don't have to level ST at all (I actually had it from previous character) - still if you do so, you will do some minor damage (500 dps for me) and it can still be fully sustainable (I think that leveled ST costs just bit more, from 6 mana to 8 or something like that)

I have made 4 variants on a CoC character (Bow, ST, 2x Melee). You should be alright using CoC at approx 40% chc. It starts to come out of its shell around 50%. And 60%+ is optimal.
Check out my Frozen Dagger build in the Shadow forums!!
I'm confused. Why does it say in the guide under "gear" the following: Use at least one gear piece with CwDT and skeletons and Decoy totem, distraction is always good.

But that is not listed in your links setup, nor shown in your gear? Which one is correct? The closest I see is the CWDT/Decoy totem/End.Cry on weapon 2.

Random thought while at work and waiting to go back home and play my new toon again.

Has anyone ever tried Spark in their CoC setup? With LMP and the number of times the spell goes off, I would imagine it will fill an entire room with sparks everywhere, shocking everything in its path. Possible alternative 5th-6th link? I know it's not a projectile so it doesn't benefit from everything like IS and FB. But if you're close enough to mobs, it could be a fun addition. Especially for bosses that are large enough to be hit by large amount of sparks.
