...::: [1.1.0] TK's ST CoC Shadow aka THE WELDER :::...

CwDT setup, I've took IC standard combo on boots lastly (had some other combo first). I have end. cry on both; and distraction in my "mini setup" on offhand dagger (decoy totem).

CwDT setup is hardly set in stone, I recommend this one - it offers distraction, fast end charge buildup (weapon CwDT gem is lower level then boots) and occasional invulnerability, but some other combinations could work nicely too.

Spark? Doesn't sound too appealing tbh. If you need shock stacks, like when playing in party, you could simply use arc. But test it out if you wish.

What should my chaos resistance be like?
Best as you can afford? But with tabula and our specialized crit gear you'll be lucky to have any. Just dodge cobras and bombs, you'll be fine.

Could u tell us in which direction ur passive skill is goin in the beginning! I just started a new shadow, and i dont know what i should level first! maybe a guide about the first 25 levels, then till lvl50, and then till lvl85 or something.

i am a completely noob in this game! Never thought anything about theory and i failed my first character really hard!

thanks in advance
I decided to roll this build for Ambush and am really liking it so far (level 77). I messed around with a couple skill combinations, and by far what feels strongest is GMP+Fireball+20% Freezing Pulse. An 80% projectile speed GMP Freezing Pulse (60% from quality, 20% from passives) is magnitudes better for shotgunning mobs close up, for freezing entire packs for crowd control, and for doing damage to the entire screen at once instead of just the first wave of mobs coming at you. The only thing it doesn't do better is sniping dangerous mobs at long range, but it still performs acceptably in that regard since fireball is pretty strong on it's own.

The mana cost is too high to sustain with regen, but for me that meant I could ditch blood magic Clarity and just run everything off of
without any kind of issues (the extra 2 projectiles from GMP means 66% more crits than LMP).

You have "leveling" part of my guide, tree is there too. Work to that tree, grab life /defensive nodes first then dagger, then you can switch to CoC setup. Everything is already written there.

I find it annoying not to have mana issues solved on their own, GMP ads nothing to single or few targets and did you really feel underpowered on huge mob packs?

For me even LMP can sometimes emit so much of spells that my own rig stutters, and it's pretty powerful. Using anything more is not polite to ppl in parties if you ever play with other ppl. Besides, DPS increase is not that much higher, that is why I as a rule always pick LMP, in this build and others.

DPS is not an issue, Everything melts, even rares and most bosses and I'm only level 69.
Survivability however, is the issue.
I cant take more than 3 hits from a white mob, let alone maybe 1 or 2 from a rare. If i can dodge them and evade, its an easy kill for me, but desynch is not very friendly sometimes when using whirling blades to reposition.
Anyway, I need to know why I'm dieing so much on 66-67 maps.

Is it my life pool too low? (2.3k)
My evasion rating too low? (3,496 with grace aura)
Resists suck ass?
40 fire
31 cold
72 light
-60% lol chaos

I know my helmet needs an upgrade.. like... beyond badly, lol. And my amulet has no resistances or any useful stat other than some HP... But RNG has not been good to me in those departments :(

Looking for any feedback that can make me more resilient. Even if I have to re spec some nodes and drop some damage or crit chance for now and pick them up later, I'll do that, since my DPS is off the charts crazy with 6link tabula and arctic breath, ice spear, fireball linked up.

You're dying because your gear is totally random vendor crap. I said that build has low gear requirements, not that it has none.

Re read answer to Sam at page 16 because you are in quite similar situation. You need resi caped and near twice as much of life to play maps, or even merc.

I typically solo, and when I do party its with people I know IRL who have pretty powerful rigs, so the frame rate issues of GMP are a non-issue for me.

I find it more annoying to have lost a good chunk of life to deal with mana management than it is have to flask between packs (especially in a build that already feels fairly squishy to me). That's really a personal preference issue, so I don't begrudge you your preference.

I agree that with your prescribed Fireball+Ice Spear set up that LMP is the better choice. The combination of quality Freezing Pulse and GMP is magical though. Literally every mob on the screen is chilled or frozen with each crit, and because Freezing Pulse has such a massive hit box you can shotgun a single target with all 5 pulses pretty effortlessly.

That's why I switched to GMP+Freezing Pulse, because in my own play style it felt safer against big packs and stronger against single targets. With a different play style LMP+Ice Spear may be better, but it's likely a style and preference issue instead of clear cut 'one is better than the other always'.

And for whatever it's worth, a buddy with a slightly less powerful computer than mine said that LMP Ice Spear had a lower frame rate for him than GMP Freezing Pulse, perhaps because there's fewer particle effects and rendering to be done with Freezing Pulse. That could just be his graphics card's preference too though.
Oh but I use both - Ice spear and Freezing pulse :) And Fireball ofc.
Btw did you know that if just one of your GMP missiles miss, you're actually doing less damage then LMP? ;)

With clarity you reserve 200HP, of nearly 4000. It's 5%, not that much but still something. I agree that ultimately it's a question of preference, so it's not "wrong" or big difference anyway but I also always try to narrow down 'most efficient' route as possible.
