Right now, even I'm not sure about the optimal build yet. I'm still actively testing.
I burned over a thousand regrets pre-1.1.0 for tweaking the build.
So, I anticipate burning another thousand for optimizing post 1.1.0.

Please be patient :) I will keep this guide up-to-date as best as I can.

In the meantime, please go over my rationale. Each major feature of this build has a corresponding explanation that I linked in the spoilers, where I try my best to articulate the pro's and con's of choosing said keystone/passive/gear/gem/support.

Despite the major tree revisions, the fundamental rationale for all the major components of this guide remain intact.

Hi, thanks for build. I had to respec my Duelist since last patch f'd it up, it used to be a clawist. I respecced to your Phys DMG tree and I wonder what kind of gear I need etc. I am currently dying since I am using random gear. There seems to be no leech or life on hit or anything, how to surivive?

Can you like post your gear and stuff?

You need blood rage for leech since this is chaos inoc, blood rage has no detriment.
minimum armor = 5k
no leech on gear required.
minimum ES/HP = 4k

absolutely!

(honestly, I think shadow is better for this build and here is why:)
MASTER OF THE ARENA DOES NOT APPLY TO REAVE!

So, there really is no point to starting off from duelist, other than being close to iron reflexe, unwavering stance, and vaal pact.

Pre-1.1.0, Shadow was definitely overpowered.
But they seemed to nerf the crap out of the crit nodes post-1.1.0, so Shadow is not too much more overpowered. In summary, I definitely, think Shadow is viable and more than possible.

I can't give you full skill tree because I'm still optimizing the duelist tree.
However, just remember that you do not need master of the arena, which will save you a LOT of points.
Just find the fastest way to get Iron Reflexes + Unwavering Stance + Vaal Pact.

What kind of equipment do I need to reach 5k armor and 5k ES? o_o Your guide is pretty confusing for me, I don't find all the suggested gear, all the gems needed for this and so on. :s

Also what if you can't afford Soul Taker, its like 60ex and I barely got 1.

This guide is a framework for the knockback mechanic.
Sorry, but I cannot walk everyone through the gearing and tree because it's different for everyone.

There is currently no best way to build for a knockback reaver. I've tried pure crit, pure phys, hybrid crit & phys dmg, aoe vs no-aoe, and they're ALL good!

You must find your own tree, but just use this guide as a reference. I provide the underlying rationale for each important keystone, gear, and gem.

Also, soultaker is not needed for the knockback. It is simply the best option for chaos inoculation users because we cannot use blood magic, and a 6 linked reave is very mana intensive.

If you can't get a soultaker. One solution is to run Clarity. Also, you will be using Dream Fragments (likely because you're CI and don't want to get frozen all the time). That has built-in mana regen.

Because the new axe/sword dps nodes are too good to pass up!
It's entirely up to you to take the fending passive.
This 1.1.0 is still a work-in-progress. :) I might change to fending later.
