Life has a huge advantage.
You can use blood magic, and stack huge life regen.
Thus, you won't need soultaker.
You also don't need auras for this build. The CI version needs discipline and grace.

I am interested in this build for the upcoming HC league and have been thinking of creating a life version.

Have this so far.



I scaled some of the damage back in favor of + life.. took out all the ES nodes I could find. Going to be running it pretty safely from the start and if I have enough tank in the end I can scale back some life nodes in favor or more damage nodes. I wont have access to a soul taker in the new league which is why I am working on this version.

Any thoughts?

Strong build. It is a very good balance of dps and tank.
If you are using the knockback gem (which I strongly recommend), I highly recommend you drop Fending. And get more eHP. Maybe even some more armor nodes. Fending is really not worth it.

i wanna start your guide in the new ambush league!!
i need the new tree mate :D
the new tree is not easy.
The new tree changed almost all the major routes of my build.

This is gonna take more time to try out.

There is a major problem: Unwavering Stance and Vaal Pact are no longer in ideal positions.

You need 3 keystones from duelist area:
Unwavering Stance + Iron Reflexes + Vaal Pact

You need 2 keystones from shadow area:
Ghost Reaver + Vaal Pact

You also need the 2 sword block penetration clusters in between duelist and ranger.

The problem is in the new placement of Unwavering Stance and Vaal Pact.

passive points = kill all. skill points are the best.

gear wise: you need soultaker for the pre-emptive strike.
But as many previous posters suggested, even that is not necessary.

All you need is 90% chance to hit, 8+ aps, and a level 20/Q20 knockback gem with reave + aoe.

My gear is absolute endgame, which makes sense because I only play standard league.

why you wear axe when you give skill points for more dps from swords( or why put skill points i nthsi when we need soul taker?)? and why kill all bandits at cruel atack speed not needed? and i'm really worry where should i spend my skill points atm i got 27 lvl and i hope you can update tree skill asap but i know its hard ;)

#1) Soultaker is for free mana cost.

#2) Reave only attacks with sword. All of my dps passive points are for either generic one-handed melee damage or sword damage. Soultaker does NOT dilute my damage at all. Again, Reave only attacks with sword.

#3) Killing all bandits is essential because this is a level-100 build. Every point counts. 8% attack speed and 18% physical damage is really not worth the 20 regret investment. (also, I am CONSTANTLY tweaking the tree... e.g. adding fending, adding witch aoe, switching from phys% to crit%, etc.)... So, personally, I prefer the flexibility of killing all bandits. With that said, if you had to choose otherwise, I would recommend getting the 8% attack speed reward. Attack speed directly scales the knockback. More hits = more knockbacks, whilst more physical damage is not correlated with knockbacks at all.
