If BM's URF radius is 10.

Skill effect area is
Normal = 100π
Conc = 49π
AoE = 204.49π

-30% AoE "radius" means half of area.
And damage loss is 35% if I use trap instead of conc.

BMs cant approach hard bosses constantly.
I usually need to use smoke mine for escape danger attack.
So, Area is very important.

How about replacing the remote mine gem (50%) when summoning zombies with a 20% quality faster attacks gem (44%+0.5%*20=54%)?
should replace burn damage with trap on aoe BM. trap is 34% more, while burn gem is only 59% increased. you have 90 increase from tree already, and another 92 from 20q minion damage...and still more from summoning gear. burn gem adds almost nothing

even with just passive and damage gem, 1.34*(1+0.9+0.92) > (1+0.9+0.92+0.59)


also, area isn't the same as range. -30% radius might be half area...but it's still only -30% range, which is what determines how close he needs to get to burn a single target. and like aoe BM...burn gem doesn't add much. if range is that important, conc+aoe is more range and more damage than trap+burn

though I'd personally just do trap+conc

Yup trap is much more better than burning dmg. If I am not wrong this is the best for 5L spectre, Raise Spectre, Trap, Minion Life, Remote Mine and (Concentrated Effect/Increased Area of Effect), summon 1 with concentrated effect for close range and another 1 for increased area of effect for far range since burned miscreation dot don't stack.

Heres another build for op summoner. 6L+5L is already op, this build run additional 11 aura to boost everything.

Well it seems there is no more point in discussing what works better with BM since this last update. BM is no longer a valid choice for AoE damage.

yeah, by the patch notes I thought they would at least keep the base damage the same and just make it not scale from life...but it seems the base damage has been nearly halved too. I could've lived with 30% their old dps...but right now it's much closer to 15%, which is just completely useless
Have you tried arcmages on 75+ maps?

Testing them now in the new leagues, no snapshotting and just 4linked they can insta gib packs of mobs in the docks atm.

Will probably mow down things effortlessly up to 70 or so till I get a 5th link and take advantage of my sidebreath/+attack weapons.

Flame sentinels hit quite a bit harder, but their big as hell and their projectiles move so damn slow, also their agro/attack range seems rather low.
