Mace/Shield LS Templar with Video and writeup(Written for New Players)

People are right, making 111 point builds is ridiculous, so I made a 98 point build...okay so it's not much better but I imagine you can get 11 points from quests (my highest level character is 10 so this is based on my math of character level max = 100, with 111 available 111 - 100 = 11 points from other means)

New Templar Build

So basically you'd need to be around level 85-87 to fill it. Of course depending on your gear you could avoid some of the health nodes or put off resistance or mana reduction ones all depending on what you have available to you. I've also put grip back in there, as I've learned that using LS with chain and grip you become an unstoppable killing machine.

Anyway just a thought. I know many of you are looking for general strategies and not "do this point for point!" but hopefully a few of you find it helpful or at least an alternate way to look at your layout. I plan to keep building towards that as I feel it will give me both survivability and killability as I plan to solo HC as long as possible.
@sarriss
keep in mind you start at lvl 1 so it's 99 skill points from leveling up.
Also quests gave you a max of 12 skillpoints (4 per difficulty level) but now i already got 5 in the first one so idk anymore.

Btw. Im having some trouble with the build. My current skillpoints are:
LS templar - mid game
Currently 3X
Im having some trouble killing monsters, i only have 740 hp and my dmg isnt very high either (about 250 dps with heavy strike, 200 dps with ground slam). My gear isnt great either but i dont think gear has that much of an impact at my level anyway.
Im thinking on going 2H mace with the hp nodes of barbarian like this and forgetting the 1h-shield for later (i hope i kill fast enough / have enough hp and hp regen).

This is true, I forgot about that. Is it only the bandit quest in Act 2 that I've heard about that you can choose not to get the skill point?

Created my EB Aura Mace/Shield Templar
I made this Eldrich LS mace+shield thread regarding a build I pieced together last night.

i've got a question and it might sound silly.

why the mace? is that because of the inherent +%ele damage?

I think its because of the galvanic hammer passive skill and that the sceptres grant additional elemental damage.

We also take Zealot's Oath. Since ES gives a 50% chance to avoid stun, it's imperative to keep a minimum of at least 1 ES points up at all times. Since this build realistically doesn't need Life Regen, this is perfect.

cant stress enough how thankfull im for the advice with Zealots Oath. as i dont have much life regen atm i combined it with my rejuvenation totem which makes my life so much easier.
this is my first poe char so i dont have much gems to build any fancy totem stuff with arc, but with the stun procs from the totem this should be fine, too.
so long i go with the regen totem.
I seem to have problem with mana, was curious how everyone is able to spam constantly? Should I start looking for mana regen items or get some decent mana flasks?
