Experimenting with the Lioneye's right now. Clear speed about doubles, but switching to single target Puncture is pretty much a must against Physical Reflect (since I can no longer evade my own hits).

how do deal with the half mana of volls? is that partially why you changed to infernal mantle?

The half mana isn't too big a deal since auras are percentage based. As long as you have enough to cast 2-3 Barrages, it will sustain itself. Split Arrow you might need the Clarity on life setup.

I switched to Infernal Mantle for the ES and also because I'm running a triple DoT as my off attack.

i have 5ex and i want to play this build, should i get a 5L voll's+thiefs+4L deaths harp then? Although im not sure how well this build will work for mostly solo play and solo leveling, i wonder if a quill rain will work better than deaths harp

Don't get a Thief's. You don't need it with the leveling tree in the first post.

Start with a 4 or 5-link Voll's (since it's the lowest level and cheapest item), just to see if you like the play style. Everything else can wait. I found almost all of my items in map parties.

half mana is easy, either thief's torment or a combination of mana leech, mana on kill, and clarity.

0 life? the base build has little, but the "goal" build basically takes the base and adds all efficient life nodes in the area to it. just because the build is tagged "base" doesn't mean rush to these 74 points first. it's just the core, and all the rest of the nodes can be customized as you see fit.

also, it's a party aura support, support by definition means, you're not facetanking things, so you shouldn't need 10k life.

I play something similar to this at 3500 unreserved life and map up to 77 without issue. I die from time to time, not commonly, and they're all my own damn fault. imho, if you need 10k life to play this game, you're doing something extremely wrong.

Missed this somehow. Quoting just to say I agree. Thanks! :)

@alkoxide: I just had a thought. If you haven't spent your orbs yet and have no idea what you're doing, this might suit you better...

Then you can play around with gem combos and figure out what you like best. :)

* Edited first post to add this is what I meant by make sure Arc casts before Ethereal Knives hits. Your procced spells need to be linked in cast order starting from CoC like this. (The main attack and other supports don't matter.)

quick question how do you sustain your attacks with no leech that i can see?
Mind Drinker, which is 2% of Physical Damage.

If you're more Elemental Damage, the Soul Siphon cluster.

And/or combine any of the above with Clarity.

Mind Drinker alone is more than sufficient with my current setup. :)
i'm currently more of a crit split phys build but i've got a windripper and i'm in the proces of socketing and link it and a voll's while needing to get the regrets needed to respec lol
