Why is soul Taker so outrageously expensive??

When you have 130 ex for a piece of gear you should want crit. Or you are a sheep
To be fair, ST does make cyclone viable. BUT, a legacy facebreaker with bm linked does just as much damage as a 6l ST and both can have all mana reserved. Think about it. Now that reduced duration is out, you can use lightning warp with FB just like you could use leap slam with ST

I know how it feel 'cos I was once holding a St and tried convincing ppl how good it is.

I've never tried to look into the passive tree much, ignored Blood Magic, thought St is so cool I can ignore Mana. Then I started read through the forum and realized that St is so overpriced and not needed at all.

Tested it all myself; no Armour part(Tabula Rasa for 6 linked) while Dual Wielding, St+Shield and Decent Weapon+Shield. I found that without St I have more damage, Hp and Defense(My main skill is 200+ mana per use Cyclone and running 3 Aura) having no Mana Prob.

Threw my St asap. Traded it for Mirror.

I had a legacy ST that I bought for 30 ex back when there was no non-legacy ST.

I used Cyclone with ST, which previously took my points to get to BM keystone.

Pretty much a fair money for a 347 pDPS with no mana issues with Cyclone + I gained 2 (3) auras.

I sold it for 110 ex 2 months ago and mirrored a 1-hander, switched to Reave, and boy that was a magnificent upgrade.
Got myself some mana and mana leech, gained double DPS, got rid of the horrible Cyclone desync.

Since Cyclone costs way too much mana, dump it, fuck that skill anyway, it will just get you killed and it's too expensive (either you have to get ST or loads of mana).

I look at that tree more than you play this game. Please save yourself some embarrassment.
Crit is the only way to further advance your dps and all high end builds have crit. If you're looking to spend more than 100 ex on a weapon only to take RT i truly feel sorry for you

What is a high end build? Is it determined by level or gear? Or both?

Definition varies. For me a high end builds has to push damage beyond what deemed normal while maintaining good defense. Being able to carry 6 man party in high level map is a good indicator. Killing hard bosses with bad mods in matters of seconds is one, as well. Things that a ST can never do.

Now we have a personal opinion.

My duelist is 97th lvl, my gear is approx. 300+ ex, I do use RT, even though I have a double crit 1-hander, have you ever thought of why someone is not "critting"? (before you came all-knowing and bashing RT end game users)
