You want to use leech gems as they are leech for both physical and elemental while leech on gear is all based on physical damage and as this build is focusing on LA (slight focus on frenzy), I would imagine using a leech gem would be best.
would a CI version of this build work? I really want to go LA but I also want to go CI and have it be HC viable.

I did up a passive tree:
http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYBAW8FtQ5IDq0QexEvEZYUdRXXFfAY2xnVGdcc3B4aIWAhdiT9KLUqOCpbKwoshSymLL8wfDH6Mww0CjY9N2Y3gznUPI4-z0CgQ5xHBlBCUUdWY1fJWhpfam_ycFJw1XRBdPF293fXfyt_xoRIhq6Ia4w2jb-P-pMnlQWZmp2joJ-hIqGkoi6iQKXLpuun1LQMtDi0xbVItve95r46wFHBAMHFwuzDbcSiyqnSGdUA1tHXhtsa2-fcFeHb44TlGedU6rrrY-wY7070-PVL-WP8q_4r_sj_k__e

pretty much just got rid of all the life nodes and got the ES nodes I could get. didn't really chance any thing else. obviously took Ghost raver and vaal pact.

I think this would help out the build really I mean with ES you can reach even high hit points and you wouldn't need a legacy koams that cots a million exalts just a good ES chest that costs half a million exalts.

anyway dose anyone know if this will work?

Actually these looks pretty interesting to me, as i still dont have Vaal Pact and runing with Blood Dance boots... Any idea how that poison works (is damage flat number, or scaling with gear or frenzy charge numbers)?
Believe me the gloves suck.
As for poison: The effect lasts for 2 seconds, dealing 20% of initial hit damage in total.

I haven't looked through the whole thread, but has anyone considered using Malachai's Simula. It increases lightning damage and gives free Blood Magic. That way you can choose not to go into the Duelist Tree (if you are desperate not to get stunned you can use an Eye of Chayula).
This would be a very bad decision for multiple reasons.
1. Malachai's Simula sucks. You can get accuracy and nice resistances from rare helmet, which will result in a better defense and offense compared to what you get from malachais.
2. You would only gain 3 passive points. Dropping unwavering stance and replacing your amulet with eye of chayula is just rediculous. The damage boost a decent rare amulet is able to provide is insane. Also ... Iron Grip, 2% Leech node, 2x 12% Health nodes....
3. "That way you can choose not to go into the Duelist Tree" yeah well, i'm not going to comment on this nonsense ^^

Hey!

I need help for leveling. I want to know what gear should I use? I mean armor\evasion, evasion, armor, evasion\energy shield and so on. Same with rings and amulets... Also with bows and quivers :)

I'm new, so help would be very helpful. Thanks :P
I suggest you read the guide. This will answer all of your question. Just follow the general idea of the items i am using and consider some of the uniques i listed in the leveling section...

Yes, this is possible. I would recommend a total of 10% Leech though. Which means you need a max roll on your amulet and both of your rings.
Even if you manage to get this, there is no real point to it. Of course you could gain more damage, but i personally wouldn't take the risk. If you play this build with decent gear, damage problems will never be a concern.

This will not work. You will run out of mana. Period.
Also you will not reach more than maybe 6.5k ES like this.
As a bow user you cannot use an ES shield... and a good ES chest (6L 1k ES) would be required to reach 6k ES... a chest like this will cost 1 mirror + 5 ex... thats about the same as a legacy kaoms.

If you want to play CI Lightning arrow, i suggest you look for a different guide / build. There are some quite nice ones out there.

thanks for the speedy reply. I will take your work for it and go life. after all I dont know much about CI or bow charecters in general but my main recently died so I wanted to try something new. the main reason I figured this would work CI aswell is because after looking around at other CI builds on this side of the tree. the passives that I linked have more ES nodes then some of the 8k ES builds that dont even have a 1k ES chest. as for the mana you raise a very good point but couldn't you just get mana leech as a mod on an amulet? I mean you are dealing so much damage that it would keep you topped off at all times?

Hey mate, first of all, this is a really really deep and nice Guide!

I Like it as hell.

Ive come here with four questions.

1. Vaal Pact and Blood Magic, at what level do you choose them? How many Life you would recommend?

2. Vaal Pact + Life Leech Gem, cause of your discription on "Vaal Pact" right?

3. What would you recommend if you start new, with no Items, what would youve been looking for first? Crit/Phys-Bow, Critchance or Eledamage on Bow and Equip?

4. Whats your opinion on this Guide if the Ladder starts new. Would you prefer to use this Guide? Because i want to use it at the end of February.
-If not, what Guide would you recommend? I defently want to play LA-Ranger.
-Or do you think this Guide will or is better if all the Gear isnt to buyout, out there?

just take a look

Last but not least, thanks for the Guide and sorry for my english mate.

I guess the 8k ES builds you are referring to are not bow builds and can use an ES offhand or are at least constantly using a buffed up discipline aura.

Mana leech speed is capped just like life leech without vaal pact.
Life leech: up to 20% of your maximum hp per second (20% Quality Life leech gem -> 24% per second)
Mana leech: up to 12.5% of your maximum mana per second (currently there is no way to increase this)

12.5% will never be enough... you wouldn't even need a lot of damage of reach this.

1. Check out the leveling section of the guide and you will find the answer by looking at the different skill trees. I recommend at the very least 4.5K life for Endgame maps and leveling past lvl 90.

2. Vaal Pact allows us to survive reflect, Life Leech is obviously required for Vaal Pact to work.

3. As i've pointed out countless times, i do not recommend this build for newcomers at all.
... anyway, first of all look for life and resistances on you armor and jewelry. Then get a harbinger bow with a decent enough crit chance (at least 8%) and decent DPS (300+).
Crit Multiplier > Ele Damage

4. Everybody is a beginner again when the new ladder starts, so i don't recommend it at all.
I got no other guide to recommend, in fact i wouldn't recommend LA-Ranger for a new ladder at all, probably Rain of Arrows would be a smarter choice. I personally won't play a bow user at the start of the new ladder. Pls don't ask me for the build i am going to play... i won't share it... yet.
As for the guide you've linked, i'm afraid i got no time to take a closer look at it... and i won't comment on something before i thoroughly checked it out.

Hi! :-)
A personal question: as an alternative you think could be a good idea to not spec in blood magic (using blood magic gem on LA and frenzy) and run two auras like hatred and haste (for example)?
According to you is more effective to have wed on LA or hatred as aura? What is the best choice for maximize the damage?
Even Considering that speccing in blood magic requires 4 skill points...

Yhx for help and very compliments for your guide!
^ Yeah I'm wondering the same thing
Mephixara // Lvl 91 Phys Tornado Ranger
Tynux // Lvl 86 DW Ground Slam Marauder
Ripheuxa // Lvl 90 KB Wander

Ah sorry last question, i have this bow:

Do you think it could be better than a lioneye's glare for your build? Or not?

Thx very much!

This might have been answered but I didn't find it. When using the Lioneye's Glare bow (5L) and a 5L evasion armor how do you suggest I deal with reflect? Will I run into any other survivability issues? I'm level 80 if that matters.

Also should I be gearing with evasion items or armor items? Does it matter? For an example if I can find a 5L armor chest with great stats vs a 5L evasion chest with not as good stats which should I go for?
