Since I started playing this game, I have relied heavily on this build. Until Level 70, it is great. Above Level 70, it is still awesome, but I've found myself using Heavy Strike less frequent. So I dropped Heavy Strike and found myself with a lot of Slots for experimentation.
Here are some Gem-Combination that I found go very well with this build:
Cast When Damage Taken
Cast When Damage Taken (lvl 1) - Enfeeble - Enduring Cry Cast When Damage Taken (lvl 17) - Molten Shell - Immortal Call - Rejuvenating Totem So this is kinda cool: You take some minor damage and start generating Endurance Charges. At some Point when you get a lot of damage incoming, you drop Rejuvenating Totem and are Invulnerable to physical attacks for a few seconds. If the Damage did not stop by now, you immediately generate new endurance Charges. Positive: its automated. Warlord's Mark becomes obsolete. Negative: If you need to manually setup a Rej. Totem, you need to remove the CwDT Gem. You also tend to overwrite other peoples Curses. Depending on Group-Participants and situation, you need to "deactivate" the setup. Warlord's Mark becomes obsolete. Other Fun/Useful Gem-Combinations: Vaal Cyclone - Increased Duration - Life Gain on Hit This skill is extremely fun to use. You can skip the Life Gain on Hit, but you need to be prepared to pull in more than you can chew on. Have a Granite Flask with you. Vaal Spectral Throw - Greater Multiple Projectiles - Life Gain on Hit - Slower Projectiles. A lot of Survivability.. and fun =) Last edited by Sephereen#2930 on Mar 23, 2014, 1:55:46 PM

On Auras:
As suggested, I skilled out of Blood Magic at some point and was very disappointed. Here is my Tip: Only spec out of Blood Magic if you have at least one 6 Link. Why? Because you need to support your skills with the Blood Magic Gem. You know that, but what you'll forget (and I did), is that you need to swap a DPS Gem for Blood Magic, and your DPS will go down the toilet. If you have some +INT Gear and spect'ed a +30 Int passive, you might end up with 100 or +120 INT, which is not enough to run max Auras. And when you want the same DPS as before (with a 5 Link), you need to run Hatred. That gives you the same amount of DPS as before, but uses up 60% of your Mana Pool (or around 45% with Reduced Mana Gem). So, thats not a big win. Only if you can support the Blood Magic Gem as the 6st Link, I can advice to try Auras. On DPS Gems: Don't use "Added Fire Damage", lol. At higher Levels, that is. Its very nice for leveling the build, but you can test something very easily: Put Ground Slam in one slot and remove all other Gems. Now, one after another, put in the following Gems: Added Fire Damage, Melee Physical Damage, Concentrated Effect, Multi Strike, Faster Attacks. Check your DPS on every TWO-Link. Remove the Support Gem and repeat with the others. You will find that, on the same levels, the DPS-increase from support gems has the following order: Concentrated Effect > Multistrike > Melee Physical > Added Fire Damage > Faster Attacks. With the new Skill Tree and our Increased AOE Radius, Concentrated Effect will be counter productive to the AOE Radius, but you'll get an enormous damage increase. Multistrike is awesome as well (GS should have at least 1k dps for armor penetration). However, "Cast on Melee Kill" will not work if you are using the Multistrike Gem (If you plan to use Cast on Melee Kill - Detonate Dead, for example). Magic Find: This Build is Great for Magic Find, because it has so much passive Resistance, and more passives are very near (Near Path of the Warrior is the Sentinel Passive (+10 all Elemental Resistances), and above that are +18% Lightning/Cold/Fire. Thats a lot of Resists for only 5 Skill Points). With the passive resists, you don't have to rely so much on Resist Stats from your Gear, which means you can swap some of it to IIR/IRQ Gear. With some Cheap Gear:
Spoiler
You already get 66 IIR, 6 IIQ for almost nothing. If you add Reapers Pursuit and use a Culling Skill (like Arc) + Item rarity, your IIR will increase from ~70 to 150 or 160 (depending on your Int (for Item Rarity Level) and Item Rolls). Well, 160 IIR/6IIQ is not much in relation to the 450/50 Builds, but its still enough to play as MF Culler if no one else is available, and people will appreciate it. And you will still be able to TAKE AND DEAL a lot of Damage =) Another advantage of the passive resists is that Armor with +Life is a lot cheaper than Armor with +Life and +Cold/Fire/Lightning Resists. - regards, Sephereen Last edited by Sephereen#2930 on Mar 23, 2014, 2:32:44 PM

So I'm level 79 and I found myself a descent carnage heart. 9% life leach I think 45 all stats which I needed to get faster attacks. However my health dropped from 4977 to 4500. It did offer lots of resists so I can probably find some cheap higher health gear to get it back up. But roughly what point should I consider using carnage heart. Am I trying a little early. I noticed a big difference in survivability. Though I could re work my gear and prob get some more chaos resist now.
Thoughts? |

" Not true. I've ran no blood magic for months with a 4 and a 5 link. You can support almost any 4L with plain 2% mana leech, and if you're careful you can do so with a 5L as well. Also, a lot of new players are not comfortable running ConcEffect, so they don't lose a lot of damage going 5L with BM gem. After Melee Physical, Faster Attacks and Multistrike, there aren't any great supports for GS. It's why the 5L with those 4 and BM is so popular. " There are 2 basic paths to use for a GS build. Carnage Heart and Blood rage. It's never 'too early' to use Carnage Heart. If you have 3%+ life regen and ~-10%+ chaos res to sustain it, Blood Rage becomes the clear winner. |

When I was at 5k health It didn't really matter now I notice it more. Obviously I know I need to fix this just trying to optimize gear now. What's a good health to shoot for for level 70+ maps |

Found a five link chest spent a lot of currency to get it to like like this
Can't link it on my phone but here are stats +75 armor +80 health 29 fire resist 30 lightning 25 chaos Pretty solid chest. Would it be worthwhile to use divine orbs on this to try and get closer to max rolls? It's an ilvl 71 chest And would it be smart to use an exalted on this? First toon I've made so I still have so many questions about the game Thanks I. Advance guys Last edited by bosis1#4861 on Mar 25, 2014, 1:12:32 PM

Im brand new to Poe, this is my 2nd character (la ranger lvl 52). Im having more fun with this build but a little lost on passive tree progression. Ive picked up Resolute Technique and blood magic but a little lost on what to prioritize from there.
-Should i go strait for Iron Reflexes (since im new to the game it gives me one less thing to worry about.) -Grab the offensive nodes Skull Cracking, Blunt Instruments. -Or pick up all the life nodes and slowly progress to IR. Ps. How do i link my build? Thank you in advance for the help. :) |
