1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD
i just downloaded this game, made a marauder so i can follow the guide, i defeated the first boss on the beach but now i have a point to spend and i only have LIFE or Melee Damage as options, how do i make my way towards Resolute Technique, there are heaps of options!!

" Because armor is only against physical damage. |

I'm doing more dmg with Lightning Strike than any other aoe skill with this build

I recently switched from Heavy Strike to Glacial Hammer and I must say, even though the DPS is a little bit lower, I still prefer that one skill for solo target DPS.
The chill effect is really nice, the frost too and there's no knockback effect associated with the skill so I think it's better in partys with other people trying to DPS the same mob as you. Btw, I find it quite amazing how you can actually really perfect your own build throught the passive skill tree, every single time I have a little bit of free space at work, I hop on the simulator and I find new shorter routes to achieve this build, it's fucking genius (welp, Final Fantasy Grid Sphere was pretty much genius material too, so, pretty normal). |

Thank you for your time to help others, I am finding this game a bit hard to understand especially gear builds + passive skill tree, this will hopefully help me a little more ;)

after getting Resolute Technique, do i make a beeline for Blood Magic?
Or should i get the fire resistances in Diamond skin node first? note: I went straight towards Resolute Technique and took the upper str node instead of going thru the fire resistance nodes. if i go the fire resistances and get the str node to the left of them, i can re-spec the upper str node i took. hm.. it looks like fire resistances is the way to go? gain 30% fire resist at the net cost of only 1 point and 1 re-spec. YES/NO? or am i going to use the re-specs later on??? Last edited by Pi314#5955 on Jan 29, 2013, 9:16:51 AM

" Because you wont get 40% damage reduction from armor, but something more like 5%. Don't look at estimated Physical Reduction in Character Sheet, because it is misleading. Physical Reduction is calculated separately for each attack. For more informations go for wiki page. " Random EleBow will deal ten times more damage than you do with LS. Constructive critique please. "U nup, with uber-perfect eq and 90lvl CI witch has moar survivabiltiy and moar damag u nab!" posts are not conctructive, you know? " It's good that you figure out your own ways. " Goind around for this one str node is a way to save one point. I guess some of you will respec to this on end-game, where regets will be pretty cheap for you. Don't shit your pants. You have free-respecs. And those are two another theories, which both are good. It depends on your preference, whats better. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/73928 <-- [Newbie Friendly] Marauder Melee Build

thx.. i will probably go the way of fire resistances and re-spec the str node.
+30% fire resists for the cost of 1 point, 1 re-spec, and delaying Blood Magic by 1 lvl sounds like a decent deal. found a 3 linked red 2h mace. now have ground slam and sweep linked with Life on hit. (sweep = those annoying times when critters surround you) Last edited by Pi314#5955 on Jan 29, 2013, 9:46:42 AM

For those times i use leap slam. Sweep sucks...
And those are usually weak, white critters, you don't need LoH for 'em, so you can add i.e. added fire damage to your ground slam http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/73928 <-- [Newbie Friendly] Marauder Melee Build IGN: NinjaArabStrategist Last edited by NinjaArabStrategist#0191 on Jan 29, 2013, 9:53:25 AM
