Barrage Wonder Wanderer – how to DEMOLISH maps (1.3.X)
With an 11% crit wand and if i get a total of 800% crit from passives/charges/gear how is that calculated exactly?
Would it be 11 x 8 = 88 Or 11 x 8 = 88 + 11 = 99? |

" 99, i.e. overkill You have to be realistic about these things.

Alright. Ive come up with this now and i think its better. Still enough crit from passives + charges + rats nest + infernal mantle + 20% accuracy gem. Still got aoe and some ele / spell dmg for firestorm. More attack speed / dex / accuracy (with 20% acc gem) and 2% regen... maybe enough to not need leech.
I think it looks pretty good now but havent actually played a coc before. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgUBogAF-R8CPAWXBgQHpwj7CdkTVvruDm0Z1QDwH-Qi2CQtH4cZ7_BQMFM1jDbsOJ48GjhjQyQ8DkiDOFVLFE0pT7VIcFKQVUlRBVunXNtePV86WMBRnWNSU-Nq-WMabFptWkgvbwJxbWx9dYx2gW_nVG1773yFfS2Dp4QZhQR-h3YZiouM5Y4aj-OEEZZKfdN-gpvWnWegoqOPpiepJKqdo2Ksna4mlaSxnaoEs5u1_rpMs_yrxKJwuzbF_MV_xnDVTdj22hrb892f3zrYu-M26V3ywfMj9hXw |

Well, it looks nice on paper. I made a small optimization below the Pressure Points node: link
The only thing that concerns me is that most of the crit chance will come from power charges, which means you'll need a build-up and will be very ineffective without them. So, in reality your gameplay will look like this: attack pack/boss, build up power charges, destroy >>> run to next pack/boss, destroy quickly with power charges, OR spend time for a build-up if they expire", as opposed to "destroy >>> destroy >>> destroy" You have to be realistic about these things. @Bars, hah, I was gonna reply to your guide's thread against your will until you said you don't want your guide bumped, but I'll respect your wishes. Let me know if you change your mind. Since your guide is mostly about the thought process behind the build and why you made the choices you did, I think anyone who will prefer to read it deserves to find it.
I'm very inexperienced and new to PoE's systems, so a lot will undoubtedly go wrong for me, but seeing the same build from two different people's perspectives shores up a lot of the problems I have as a newish player -- 1) Some builds on class forum front pages looked very good to me at first, because I know almost nothing, and they have 30+ pages of discussion, so they must be good, right? But for various reasons, after paying more careful attention to the builds or the threads, they are definitely somewhere between "bad" and "complete disaster waiting to happen". If I hadn't at least played the game to Cruel, I wouldn't have seen the signs, and there are probably bad builds I've seen and not spotted as bad. Two people indepdently arriving at the same build from different perspectives and explaining their perspectives helps me verify that the build is legitimate. Second of all, I think this is the important part, two people explaining the build from their own perspective creates coverage of details that every guide will miss. Like, say in Diablo 2 I explain my Whirlwind Barbarian to you and I wear a ring that makes me immune to curses and then in my guide I forget to even mention anything about that, because I covered that base implicitly and forgot to even mention the problems they have with getting cursed. But then you read another WW Barb guide and they mention that they don't farm a certain area, because they don't want to die to a curse. "Oh, so that's why they have that ring." So a lot of good stuff comes from reading two guides. I would say that if this build is anywhere from the "respectable" to "godtier" range range of quality, you both think it is, I see no reason not to believe that, then it's totally worth there being two guides of such high quality on the front page!! Just my opinion, anyway I found both guides extremely helpful, and thanks for your help Bars! Last edited by Zomb1ek1ller#4499 on Mar 22, 2014, 11:42:21 AM

" Ah right... i missed that. Yeah i was concerned about that as well. I have played power charge chars before tho and found no real problems. A duration node or two on p charges goes a long way though so ill see if i can incorporate that. Thanks man. No idea how it will turn out but ill let ya know if its pretty good. |

@ZombieKiller: You are more than welcome :) Some more insight on my motivation:
1. This is LeMing's build. Period. I started following it and made modifications to my own liking, but I didn't arrive at the same destination on my own. My version was, IMO, better, so I wrote a guide... and then they moved VP, LeMing changed his passive tree and our trees became nearly identical. I don't want to bump a guide for a build that is not my original idea and that is, in the end, nearly identical. 2. edit: deleted evidence of my scumbaggery :3 @PhreEkGarden: I think it will work pretty well if you don't mind the power charge build-up :) You have to be realistic about these things. Just some thoughts / questions...
Is heart of oak / stun recovery nodes worth it? I'm seeing 3 candidate paths to get from ballistic mastery to finesse - heart of oak (3 pts), primal spirit (4pts), going around like in this build (2 points if you're going for the life nodes nearby either way). Heart of oak looks pretty crap but I guess what matters is if it's worth the 1 point opportunity cost over taking the dex nodes like in this build. Based on the priorities in your build, Bars, it seems like the best path would be to go the Primal Spirit route and get IAS, %Mana, mana regen, +20str/int for gearing instead of dex nodes or stun recovery. You're going out of the way to get some "life and mana" nodes so it seems logical. Unless there is actually something redeeming about stun recovery? My second thought is it seems like Revenge of the Hunted is quite economical and it's close. Bars, you could swap some some life/dex nodes giving you +32% max life for +22% max life, +38% evasion, +4% phys. damage for ek (or better yet take 18% max life, 32% evasion and net a whole skill point). It's a good deal unless 1% max life is better opportunity cost than 3% evasion. Some other thoughts.. if a skill point is less valuable than 4.5% IAS, for an opportunity cost of 2 skillpoints we can route through the 3 3% IAS nodes between thick skin and finesse. So is 4.5% IAS worth a skillpoint? Is 3% evasion worth 1% max hp in this build? Any thoughts on Primal Spirit / Revenge of the Hunted? Last edited by Zomb1ek1ller#4499 on Mar 22, 2014, 5:28:43 PM

Oh hey, as long as Blinding Speed is worth it, for opportunity cost of 2 more skill points, we can get:
-20 int +20 dex 3% ias 4% move speed 2% dual wield block +20% crit chance Access to Conditioning (great HP node) If we're willing to spend 4 skill points to reach 3 8% life nodes for example, we're spending a skill point for +6% HP a point. Conditioning is 12% hp, so just getting next to it is worth an opportunity cost of 1 skill point. So the above boonuses/maluses would have roughly have an opportunity cost of 1 skill point (erring on the side of pessimism, say, just slightly more). Stun recovery / chance to avoid stun + hp regen and 4% life is good. The further you progress in the game, the better it becomes. You could go the alternate route through the mana nodes and it wouldn't be the end of the world... I just prefer Heart of Oak. Also, the 1% HP regen is pretty good for chaos damage per second maps, without it and with -60% chaos resist they are a bit annoying.
IAS is not that important. Attack speed is enough anyway, and increasing it also increases mana cost, which might make you have to level clarity more, i.e. less life. 4% physical damage is insignificant. Life is always preferable to armor. This build is point-heavy, so it is generally a good idea to make it as streamlined as possible. Each unnecessarily spent point is one less health node, and when you get to endgame, you'll develop a strong appreciation of health nodes. edit: blinding speed? It's taken in my tree, and what's that 20% crit chance you're talking about? edit2: I suggest more playing and less pondering upon the skill tree. Get some experience and you'll be able to answer most questions for yourself. You have to be realistic about these things. Logen Ninefingers Last edited by Bars#2689 on Mar 22, 2014, 5:49:24 PM
