The Frozen Dagger (ST/CoC - Self found, noob friendly) [Gameplay Videos]

My bad, didn't mean to put words in your mouth.

Thanks for making the switch to Conduit. That turns my Tabula Rasa into a true 6-link! :D

You may have also turned me to giving Cold Snap another try after that perma-freeze map last night.
I'm new to the game, only been playing a couple months. I have tried a few different builds, experimenting with most classes and "noob friendly" builds.

This is by far, the easiest to play from the start. I had no gear, just the gems needed to get the build going. Only level 42 but, thus far, it's been face melting magic. Mobs just explode in to frozen rocks for me to walk across and bask in glory.

Thanks for the great guild. I plan on taking this toon to end game maps.
The Lab, making a great game good since 2016.

Hey again, update time :) 72 now and did some upgrades.

Piety was easy but Dominus - well I felt like I would met a devil :D That was hard and I couldn't kill him solo yet.

Yah Dom is pretty tough for this. But, I'm not a dom runner. I'd rather roll maps ;)

I droped Abyssus today, with pretty low roll but I decided to chrom it to usefull colors and try it ... hell yeah, those 114% crit multi gave me some serious dmg :) did you think about this unique?

Abyssus would be a great addition to an IR variant on this build

I usually dont post about builds and such but playing nemesis for some time with 89lvl coc build i havenoticed few things, you dont really need damage or crit multiplier nodes for maps to be cleared kinda easily (done up to 76's maps)

First off, your playing HC. I would build a bit differently if I was as well. I may, at some point, work on a good HC variant. But for now this is a softcore build.
2ndly, your using EK which has way higher base dmg than any other spell out there. So your build wont need dmg/multi to clear efficiently. Cold spell base dmg is lower than any other spell, due to it's utility. So it needs some umph behind it. Hence the extra dmg/multi from the tree.

"
you need bit more survivability plu using two ungils gauches is kinda better than using one and another random dagger, because two ungils give you 55% block chance which is tons then lots of global crit chance which stack with spells.

Double Ungil's is more than viable. I just like having a high crit chance dagger for my main hand to boost single target dmg with double strike. With my build you don't need more survivability since 99% of everything is perma-froze. You don't need 4k hp if nothing can hit you. And the things you can't freeze you use your head and figure out how to beat them without standing there face tanking them.

"
But other than that id go with fast dagger that has nice crit chance ....

I couldn't agree more. The faster the better!!!

"
Pro tip: you kinda only need MAX 3 stats on dagger, base crit chance, att speed and spell damage that's it, the faster the dagger the better, plus you dont need any damage on rigs or ammy, better stack mana/mana regen/life/resists on those.

+x-x dmg is negligible for sure. But crit chance/multi is great on them. And, as I have said a bunch, mana/regen is needed until you can continuous cast without lapsing in mana.

"
P.s. wanted GGGGB volls, wasted 3k chromes had to stick with GGGBB....

Yah rolling a voll's is rly rough for ST/CoC

I understand, if i build in sc/domination i would build differently aswell with more damage than survivability. And my build has 5,2k hp atm with few uniaues with no hp and amulet with no hp i guess you could get even more life. And i still think using ek on coc builds is almost a must since it deals so much damage with no investments (i blame other spells being very weak and mobs being assholes having elemental resistances all the time).

It makes me happy to hear that I could be of use to others :D

Most assuredly EK is the most 'efficient' spell to use with CoC. It requires almost no investment to cause massive amounts of dmg. But, what fun is it to do what everyone else is doing ;) Now I know I say that using a CoC build. But, I started this well before it became a fotm.

On a side note ... other spells maybe be weak in dmg compared to EK. But they each bring their utility that EK cannot (without further investment).

Edit: Did some minor editing and additions to a couple sections. Planning on overhauling the whole post soon. It's getting a little muddled.

Yep. Parties really appreciate mass shock/perma-freeze.

Even from a pure damage standpoint, even though EK is more efficient, it's more fun to do something different. :)

Edit: So this just happened...

I know it's suicide on Elemental Reflect but eh. You gain the XP back fast.

Hey,

Thanks for the great guide. I want to try pretty soon.
Sorry if it has already been asked (I looked) but I noticed that in the passive tree we can swap the three Attack Speed nodes from the Ranger area with Aspect of the Panther and the two One Handed Attack Speed nodes. Is there a reason not to do so?

Thanks!

That is a great point. I originally chose the ranger start nodes because I wanted the 20% accuracy next to them. Well I dumped the accuracy after finding some great accuracy gloves. I have just forgotten to change over to aspect since then. I will update the tree and a note about the accuracy in the tree later.

Thanks for the catch!

This is my first character and it's really fun so far, especially after I was able to trade for a COC gem. Two questions though, when should I switch some points over to things like Spell Power/Spell Damage/Deep Thoughts/Mana Geyser? Should I do it along the way or just follow the progression as it's written?

Also, I noticed that you take Discharge with Double Strike but without PCoC on anything with that setup. Is this on purpose?

Honestly the progression of the tree will change depending on the gear available to you and where you are at in the tree. If you need mana/regen badly then make the sacrifice to grab Thoughts and/or Geyser. Otherwise go for more dmg or survivability. I make notes on almost all of the links for this vry reason ;)

I get free power charges from Voll's (look at the chest in the gear section). The voll's is not required to make this build work. But without it you will have to sacrifice gem slots for PCoC.

Sorry it's been a bit since I managed this thread. I have been working on a new character. Will be making a build thread for my ranger soon :)

Updated gear.
Will update current stats later today.
