The Frozen Dagger (ST/CoC - Self found, noob friendly) [Gameplay Videos]

Still playing around with countering Elemental Reflect. LGoH isn't quite enough and I'm trying to avoid the Vaal Pact point investment.

Moved my Arctic Armour to CwDT so I don't die from forgetting to cast it. And trying out Molten Shell but haven't seen it proc yet (it's within the level restrictions). Have you used this combo? Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what else to put on there. Enduring Cry + Immortal call really only helps against Physical Reflect, which isn't much of an issue. Had totems but more what kills me is myself. So for right now I also have Molten Shell and Arctic Armour activate when Stunned.

Uhm molten shell only reduces physical dmg through additional armour. And for me arctic armour wont do much since I am typically doing cold dmg. Your best bet is to have an Ele res flask on hand to boost your res above max. And just be careful and pay attn. The occasional 'oh shit ele reflect ... dead' moments are going to happen. The only way to counter this is going to be to drop a ton of offense and get a shit ton more HP.

Okay, that's good to hear just to know I'm not built upside down or something. :)

Here's the helm I was thinking about switching my Rat's Nest out for but not sure if that would be an overkill damage to defense trade:

They're only a chaos or two on XYZ.

Considering our glass cannon builds I don't see that being extremely effective. And possibly even counter intuitive. Your objective is to kill things ASAP. Sure if you go low life you'll get a bunch of evasion. But in all honesty that is not likely to save you in most situations. As glass cannon low life is not something that should happen to you often. When you do happen to hit low life you are typically surrounded by 15 mobs. And even at capped eva you still take 1 hit from 1 of them and die. On top of that your dmg will be reduced by 1/2. Meaning you are less likely to finish them off before you die. But at 1-2 chaos it may be worth a try.

^^ My 2 pennies ^^

Edit - I have yet to find a hard counter to ele reflect with the main skill selection. Like I said in the main post you can counter reflect with gem swapping. But, that obviously doesn't help in 'Oh Shit" situations.

Yeah, you're right. I tried swapping some gear around yesterday but killing things faster seems to be better defense than anything else.

I've mainly just been moving really slow in the 73+ maps and checking the mods on rare mobs before attacking. (In which case, do you think it would be better to trade out attack speed nodes for pure projectile damage?)

For elemental reflect maps, I've switched to EK and Raging Spirits. Like you said, you lose the slow. But the extra minions kind of help make up for that. How's your crazy Ranger's build going?

Uhm as a barrage CoC dropping attk speed might hurt you pretty bad. Mainly b/c it will take longer to fire your shots, which in turn will keep you in place longer. Causing you to have a lot less mobility.

Ranger build is coming around. She's in a rough spot right now cause she needs a lot more res. But she is capable :)

I put a link to her thread at the bottom of the main post.

Why do you prefer Cold Snap over Freezing Pulse again? I swear we had talked about this before but I skimmed through every page of the thread and am just blind.

Edit: Never mind, that was Arctic Breath vs. Ice Spear.

Freezing Pulse + Ice Spear just sent my soloing survivability through the roof! :D

ultimate definition of glass cannon

Yes and no ... A true glass cannon would optimize for FULL ON DMG. Say if I were to go Fireball/EK, that would be glass cannon. This build is centered around as much dmg as possible with a focus on the utility of freeze. And considering that I can face tank a large portion of many maps, without a stitch of leech, then that isn't rly glass cannon now is it? Freezing mobs isn't any different then stacking block, or evasion. In every case you aren't taking dmg from mobs that otherwise could hit you.
