[1.14B HC/Nemesis] Ninja Crit Caster (5x11.6k FP DPS) [Videos]
" Thanks, I decided to give it a go since my last character on HC ripped. It was pretty painful leveling as a shadow since my life felt kinda low and my damage was lackluster, but when I hit level 52 and was able to equip my 5L Cloak of Defiance everything just clicked. I'm level 57 now, and my damage is amazing, literally 2-3 shotting rares when I crit. Feel super tanky as well with just 2k mana and not that much evasion, even though my mana regen isn't high enough to sustain arctic armour yet. The few downsides I feel to this build so far is that leveling this as a shadow sucks, since you feel super squishy up until you can wear the cloak :\ Also, I wish there were more +all resist nodes around the shadow area to make it easier to max out resists in merciless. Other than that, the build is amazing and I can't wait to start doing maps with it. Looking forward to picking up a Lavianga's and Berek's Grip when Nem ends. I notice your CWDT is leveled up to 7, is there a specific reason you did this? Normally people just leave it at level 1 so that it procs more often. Also, thoughts on linking CWDT to Immortal Call as well? Seems like it would help against those physical dmg spellcasters that this build is weak against. Although getting RRRB on a ev/es armour will be a pain in the butt Last edited by hatoblue#1897 on Feb 10, 2014, 5:07:22 AM

possible to use EK with this build? or will the reflect kill me?

" Yup, I'm hoping the shadow buffs (which are supposedly in the works) will help buff this build a little! No reason at all why my CWDT was leveled up to 7 haha. I was just playing around with it and decided to settle on 7 in the end. No real reason for that. I did consider linking it to immortal call but decided against it because although IC provides physical damage immunity for a while, it's effectiveness is kinda reduced because acro/phase acro will help deflect some of this damage anyway, which was why I preferred having endurance charges up with the option to self cast IC later on if necessary. I decided to just build a damage buffer in the end (HP + mana) as it provided universal defense (currently sitting on 4.9k hp and 2.4k unreserved mana for a combined total of 7.3k damage buffer). " Yes, reflect will kill you. If you want to do an EK build, I think an EB/MoM Scion should be the optimal build for it. Build of the Week 14

" i think the most popular one atm is ZiggyD's EK scion in the scion forums. You should be able to spot it there Build of the Week 14

Hi Invalesco,
Followed your build and really enjoyed it. Got rip in cruel though. I want to play this build again in the next league. Btw, planning to make an ice arrow shadow build. Do you think it's possible? Any rough idea of what my passive tree should be? Thanks |
|
" Ah sorry to hear. Yes I think an ice arrow build should be possible. I'm currently studying for an exam on friday, but if you send me a msg over the weekend i may be able to cook up something for you. Build of the Week 14

Quick status update, I managed to level up to 73 and am starting to do maps. I'm sitting at 3.5k hp with good +life on all of my gear, which honestly feels far too low for me. I've decided I'll grab the 6 life nodes easily available to me at this point, instead of getting more damage in the form of crit multiplier + crit chance nodes. Starting to wish I had gone with the scion version, which has more life, but it's too late for me to switch now :(
So far I've had no problems surviving in level 70 maps and lower, the only things I need to watch out for are lightning thorns and undying evangelists. Evangelists aren't a problem as long as you perma freeze them, but getting in the middle of all of them to place the freeze mine feels sketchy sometimes. As for the lightning thorn guys, it's hard to freeze them because the casters tend to destroy the freeze mines with their arc, so I just pop a topaz flask and hope for the best. |

" How much unreserved mana are you at? Ikr, I kinda wish I had gone for the scion version instead. At least I have a buff to look forward to though when they buff the shadow. I wouldn't advise going into the middle of them to freeze them, reason being that their aoe can destroy the mine if you're not kick enough. If you want to be really safe, throw fire traps or just warp around - warp, pulse, warp, pulse, etc. so you don't get hit by their delayed aoe. I don't actually have problems with the lightning thorn guys at all tbh. But yeah, popping a topaz flask will help. That and throwing fire traps at the casters Build of the Week 14
