[1.0.6] Goddess of Thunder - CI Storm Call tank [discontinued]
Hey ! I´m doing this build as my first char and i have some stupid questions . So , how u deal with chaos damage ? I am a lvl 65 witch and i can tank almost everything that doesn´t inflict chaos damage . When I face chaos damage like Weaver or even places like vaal ruins i just die . I can always skip blood magic but if I do i lose a lot dps and at least one important aura . WHat should I do ?
Also , why Chaos inoculation is not a good choice for this build ? Last edited by thiago231#4106 on Dec 28, 2013, 9:52:28 PM

" Hi, some chaos mobs can be a bit tricky. One way would be getting your chaos res up to 75%, there are some uniques like Lori's Lantern and Lightbane Raiment that give you a decent amount of Chaos Res. Or take an Amethyst Flask with you for +35% Chaos Res. Another important thing is atleast one Life Flask, and a Quicksilver Flask. Now to get rid of chaos mobs safely, first gain a few non-chaos damage dealing monsters around you - Anvil will give you a certain amount of Life back per attack you block. If there are no other monsters around, try to nuke the chaos monsters one by one from distance, not luring too many at once. If your life gets too low or you get hit by Viper Strike, use your Life Flask. Merciless Weaver is a problem on its own, the boss itself is very squishy, but you should have max block and 75% chaos res here. Also take two Life Flasks with you and disable Low Life, sure you lose DPS but you will atleast stay alive. If none of this helps, you can still ask someone to help or start a public party for this boss. CI doesn't work with this build, you need to be at 35% (or less) Life for activating Low Life, but with CI you are always either at 100% or 0%. twitch.tv/enkivt

So I'm trying this build out and it's working out good so far.
Im just wondering, what shield could I get before getting an aegis aurora? |

" Daresso's Courage would be a decent choice, you get resistances and with 120% of block chance as spellblock on low life even a really decent mod. Another good choice would be a decent Angelic/Archon Kite Shield with extra block chance rolled. twitch.tv/enkivt

I made some changes to the top right of the passive tree, it provides 15% more crit chance, 5% reduced mana reserved, 5% more aura effectiveness and it applied to party members.
I ran the numbers and with the 5% reduced mana and all gems maxed you get 34% life left after discipline, reduced mana, and blood magic. |

Hi Bro,
I think you are doing a great work with this build!!!!! This is my stuff right now
Spoiler
Obviusly for the moment cannot deal with chaos dmg. Needs better jewellery with chaos resistance to try it. What do you think will be the next items to improve? Also I cannot wait to see the true Goddess of Thunder. Could you reveal us something bro? some little details :-P for example do you think to use Shavronne's? IGN Now with MssDeath

" How much did this affect your Armour with/without flask? Currently don't have enough regrets to take a look into this, but i prefered Inner Force as it boosts both auras and Granite Flasks. Will definitely take a look into this and compare, once i'm able to. " Thanks, i always appreciate to see people doing good with my build! The biggest upgrade potential would be in your belt and jewelry. Get a Heavy or Chain belt with Armour, ES and Resistances. Amulet should be Anvil, the additional Block and Life on Block will actually help you dealing with most Chaos dmg. Change the Prismatic Ring to an Amethyst Ring with Dex, Chaos Res and other resistances. If you need Dex or Resistances after these changes, you can pick up Diamond Skin and a +30 Dex node, or change the gloves to good Ar/Es resistance gloves if needed. Still saving up for the final version, i'd say i got around 50% of the gear by now. And yes, Shavronne's will be a part of it. twitch.tv/enkivt

Currently leveling a char following my own leveling guide, it's Lv50 right now, 0 deaths, full cleared every area. Found 2 exalts, around 10 chaos and lots of uniques (f.e. thousand ribbons, pillar of the caged god, high roll facebreakers) on the way.
If i can keep this up until Merc Dominus is down, i'll speak out a general HC viability to this build. twitch.tv/enkivt

I have a few questions.
1. Why don't you use Static Blow? 2. I am experimenting with a life-oriented version of this build (rather than energy shield). Is there anything wrong with this? Here is my current passive tree. 3. I hear Moonsorrow and Divinarius suck in really late end-game. I have a Moonsorrow already, so should I be okay just using that or should I try to buy something better after, say, level 80? 4. I have considered using Lightning Warp + Faster Casting in unused gem slots in order to counter the slow movement speed from The Anvil. Why not include this in the build? " Hi, i'm sorry i'm a bit tipsy from new years eve but i'll try to answer the best i can right now: 1. It's not really needed, since you 1-hit (ok, technically 4-hit since you can cast 4 storm calls before they set off) almost everything, so there wouldn't even be a chance to shock. Imo it's not worth the 3 points to go there. 2. The problem with a life based version is, that no matter how much life you get, you'll have to contribute atleast 65% of it for low life. The next problem is there isn't really anything you can ditch from the original tree to be able to pick up enough life nodes. But the main reason why this is an ES build is simply because of Aegis, which replenishes ES on block. 3. Moonsorrow is a cheap alternative to get into this build, but it gets easily outdamaged by a mid tier wand/sceptre/dagger. I tried it vs. a Redbeak (100% increased damage on low life), and Redbeak actually provided more damage. Divinarius is a pretty good weapon for this build, good spell damage, high crit and increased aoe. With crit multi and cast spd it would be perfect. Of course both can't compete with a BiS wand that will cost like 100 mirrors, but they are both pretty sweet weapons and i wouldn't say they suck endgame. My current weapon provides slightly higher on-hit damage than Divinarius but has less crit chance, and i'm doing fine with it damage wise. 4. Personally i don't like warping/jumping or whatever else is possible through the map, but that's personal preference. With a good quicksilver flask and Inner Force/Flask Effect nodes, you will reach the movement spd cap and by concentrating and killing mobs in packs, you will keep them always filled. Anyway, if you like to use Lightning Warp as movement, there's nothing that speaks against it. twitch.tv/enkivt
