[1.0.6] Goddess of Thunder - CI Storm Call tank [discontinued]

I have been wanting to make a high MF build for ahwile now.. And this looks very promising.

2 questions:

1) Are you able to farm dominus with this build?
2) In your screenshot your show 399% IIR, but when calculating your gear I only see around 320 IIR, where is the other 80% coming from?

Hi, Dominus is possible but you should get some good defensive MF gear, so you can sustain his attacks. Keep Anvil equipped and switch to Saffell's Frame for his first form. Run to the stairs and attack him from there, you should be safe from Suicide Mark. In his second form, switch to Aegis and you should be able to tank him if you got enough Armour/Es.
Or in short: You can't use a MF-amulet for Dominus, but everything else should work.

Edit: Just did a few Dominus runs. I'm kinda disappointed of him, the loot is not worth the time invested compared to Lunaris runs.

The additional iir/iiq comes from my Divination Distillate, which gets additionally buffed by the 3x 10% flask effect nodes in witch starting area. Before culling bosses with Reaper's Pursuit (currently i have to switch ir/iq gems before bosses, until i have a second set of them), i disable Clarity and use the flask while culling.

I'd recommend a good Saintly Chainmail, it's good for Docks/Lunaris/Dominus and most maps will work too if you roll Skeletal/Capricious/Demonic/Slithering/Undead, which completely excludes any chaos monsters.

MF'ing in Shavs would gimp you too much, you already lose a huge part of Armour when switching your belt and amulet.

That might work on lower maps if you can keep up flask charges, but you would run into problems with some bosses. Single target dps is a bit low, so chances are you run out of flasks before you can get the boss down.

Another problem will be 74+ maps, Rhoas/Black Guards and even the huge Skeletons can all be pretty heavy hitters, in an unfortunate situation you wouldn't block enough to keep yourself alive. Add in map mods like Vulnerability or Monster Damage, and even 7k+ ES can be gone pretty fast. Don't even wanna mention lag/desync..

IMO it's important to find a good balance between Armour and ES, with a bit more preference on good ES rolls on gear.

Thanks, didn't even think of taking the outer route! The newly gained node could also be used for a +30 Str node (6% Spell Dmg), Diamond Skin or Ghost Reaver.
Gonna update the trees later.

Doing some Dominus runs currently, updated both normal and MF section with new strategies for this fight.
