I'm the guy who made the Krippendium thread - oops ;). I guess I threw a bit of a wrench in your plans to put the Open Beta changes in the best light possible, which people should realize is something you're entitled to.

I'm not upset they weren't in the best light possible (as I was prepared to just post the patch notes without any explanation once they're ready), but I just wished that the notes were at least complete and up to date.

No worries though, I'll get accurate notes out soonish and hopefully people take the time to read them again.

I know I will be reading them. Sorta stopped playing PoE and waiting on patch notes, though part of that is also for pursuing studies in computer networking, which is eating up a lot of time. Still, want to thank you and the other devs for your continued acknowledgement of things on the forums (unlike some places) and that you're so committed to the game and with it through the good and bad. Kudos to you guys and keep up the good work. :)

Absolutely they will. I believe most people recognized that none of the changes were final yet... that's probably why some posts were so heated. People wanting to have their say on things before OB is released, as lawyers would in their closing arguments before the jury goes off to make the final decision.

I'm impressed by how you've come forward with such a good explanation for the changes to come. People need a little challenge in their lives, and that is really what makes a game fun. The challenge of making it to the top.

Problem is, there's always somebody who only wants to roflstomp everything, no questions asked. You can't please that lot. And either way, carrying the metaphorical donkey on your shoulders, and I'm saying this for all the GGG devs, is only going to make it harder on you guys to provide the product a majority of us will enjoy, changes or no.

That said though, I'm from the school which favors moving on after balance changes or any changes for that matter, in a game. I haven't been affected much by such changes in most games I have played, whether they be online or offline. I may sigh if something changes, but I've never really failed to move onwards for the sake of keeping the game itself as a fun thing to play, it's a chance to do something different after all.

You folks at GGG are really good guys. On par with Gaslamp Games with how you interact with the community, for that matter. And those guys have been one of the coolest dev teams I know of too. If only more devs were like you, but the David Gaider article sadly proves that not all communities give the devs some respect and a break instead of incessant whining and basically beating each other up when the mods won't look. I hope you can somehow keep interacting with the community while this goes on.

I look forward to the new patch notes and Open beta just as much as anybody. Don't be bummed by how a certain portion of the community may or may not react. I give you my best, and hope you can keep providing a quality product for us as the days go by.

Regards from Wraeclast, and all the best in future.

Actually looked up Kripps stream to see the Alpha for a glance. I am really happy with the difficulty he is having and seeing higher level side-quest areas. I'm looking forward to the challenge and the new changes. I don't want a game where I can find enough gear and skill combos to be OP in a couple of days - let me earn it from overcoming the challenges and learning from experience and experimentation. GG to GGG.
Good Job GGG.

Thanks for communicating with the community so well. Anyway, the patch notes could say "Kicked your dog and burned down your house" and we would still love Open Beta.

I appreciate your dedication to not swinging lower numbers at a powerful build in order to balance it. Approaching balance with actual gameplay changes is the hallmark of a smart dev team, and probably one whose games will stick around for a long time.

I first like to thank you Chris and the entire dev team for creating such a wonderful game and it seems that you are a gamer developing a game for us gamers. The changes are welcome and I look forward to exploring the changes that have been made. This is actually the first time I have taken the time to post on a game forum and i will continue to post and support this game.

Keep up the good work.

How bout immunity to chaos but -50% ES or something to CI.
Only prob I have is if I get damaged with chaos and my shield goes down, in which I can't just pop a potion up cause ES doesn't regen till I stop taking on damage.

Also if say 1.5%hp regen is converted to ES. Is that the 1 hp that I have and 1.5% hp regen to ES? Or that X amount of ES and 1.5% regen?

2nd question doesn't have to be answered.
