Well done Jonathon edit - changed may to will Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins. Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. Working in the IT, I know how hard it is to foresee every possible consequence (and side-effects) of your actions and things like these are just bound to happen. Although I wasn't affected directly, I am very thankful for this kind of insight and openness. Unimaginable for a company like Blizzard.
I'm also absolutely impressed by the amount of dedication and professionalism shown here in resolving this issue. It takes something to come up with these kinds of solutions that quick. @Jonathan: I don't think you should feel guilty in a personal way or like you disappointed out trust. You all did your best, some things just happen and you cannot always avoid all possible pitfalls. The fact you do see it that way shows what a great person you are and how much you identify with what you do. But it's still just a game and (unexpected) maintenance downtimes happen. You showed you have your heart and dedication in the right spot and you learned from this mistake. That's the important part. You do care, you don't take this lightly like many companies do. That's what sets GGG apart. It's not like people lost their lives, nothing happened except for some short downtime, so it's all good :) | |
