Incident Report for 1.0.2 deployment downtime

Disgusting.

After receiving much more professional and high quality service from more reputable companies like Bioware and Blizzard, I have become accustomed to the typical 9 hour 'maintenance' patch during which website and game are down. These would happen weekly, regardless of when a new patch came out. Sometimes we would get a bonus professional nod by having much longer patch downtimes, or emergency patches other times of the week.

After the typically poor result of 1-2 minute downtime for patches, and some weak efforts taking up to 10 mins, GGG thinks they can impress me with 46 minutes???

Still I suppose it's understandable newer struggling indie companies should falter, except for GGGs worst offence of all, telling us what's happening/the cause of delays beyond bland general descriptors after the servers have been up for hours...

Better effort next time please.

SOMEONE NEEDS A BIG O' HUG

Thanks.
Thank you for letting us know what exactly happened.

Unlike popular belief, we gamer really want those nerdy in detail updates :)

Keep up the awesome work GGG !
Thank you GGG, I like to see professionalism from other software developers, but I love to see it in the developers of the games I play. This is a step above professionalism into true customer care. Thanks for both the game and for how much you care about us, the players. It's plain to see with posts like this and how you respond to our requests and complaints that you really do care about the community. You're a role model for other developers man, so keep it up and keep being awesome.
This is why i love GGG... keep up the good work guys!
Thanks for this post and keep the great work.
It is absolutely amazing to see a detailed explanation of what happened last night. I am a QA manager, and wish I could always take the time to address my customers with such thorough detail. It is obvious that GGG take great pride in their work, and minor setbacks such as this are always worrisome and painful. However, addressing the community like this only strengthens our trust and confidence that you will continue to put out the highest possible quality you can.

No matter how many precautions you take, there will always be problems and hurdles. It is how you handle those problems that define the quality IMO. The way this was handled was swift and professional, and I think we should all be thankful for this. The rage on the forum afterwards is a testament to how much everyone loves this game. 46 minutes is a small price to pay for another great update.

Thank you for the great content, transparency, and community support GGG. You guys are doing it the right way. Now, I'll go buy some more stash tabs and effects.
