We players want an Auction House.

I am a player and I definitely do not want to see an auction house.

Though a marketplace similar to that in Lineage II might be interesting. At least with a marketplace of people sitting down to set up shop, you have to walk through hunting for things.. no instantly searchable spreadsheets. It opened up interesting price differences in trades that could be quite profitable to those lucky enough to find them without entirely sacrificing the hunt for loot experience.

I really like a thing like this also dofus have a system like this for sell/buy item.
I vote for your Idea Durentis.

I like the logic of quantume and his posts make me laugh(in a good way, no sarcasm), you're right bro but would calm down....if you want ;)

One curious thing about AH protestors is how they seem to know how bad the current system actually is. Every time someone says "we want a AH" they reply "don't say we".
If there really are that many who wouldn't want a AH, why are they so upset?

Why won't they just let the AH come? Obviously they claim to be confident enough to know that the majority wouldn't touch it with a long stick, so they could all keep trading the way they are doing business right now.

Seems to me that they know how things would go down: 99% would use the AH because it's practical, fast, efficient, convenient.

To all my beloved AH protestors; nice job shooting yourself in the foot with all that doubt. Keep it up.

I am sure deep in their heart, many people would agree to a suggestion like "remove white items from the game and replace them with blue ones..then yellow and so on till the top"

But many would refuse here because it would make the game to easy. AH is the same..it makes the game easier, like implementing a cheat (not that AH is cheating) but its a game mechanic which only purpose is to make the players life easier.

I dont want to game to become easier. But if its implemented..i would have to use it or..i would fall back behind other players. Like slowly climbing up a rope..while there is an elevator.

Thats why i am against AH and thats why "we players want an AH is a lie"
Anyone want to buy my Fishing Rod? I got it from a guy in Sarn.

Anyone else ever heard of 'Tender'?

Tenders are like blind auctions, the seller lists the item with a date/time that tenders must be in by. At that time the seller picks the tender he wants. All items would be held in escrow until the tender closes.

The keys to this is there is no buyout, no way to see the highest bid on the item and no way to see what an item sold for. Yet it still has the convenience of an AH in terms of seeing what items are currently for sale and the items would be transferred as soon as the seller accepts a tender, or returned on rejection by the seller (at the close) or withdrawal by the buyer (at any time before the close).

NB. Idea originally posted by ScrotieMcB in another thread of this nature a couple of months ago.

The reason AH in diablo 3 failed imo, was because it wasn't an ingame AH. Needing to log out of the game in order to buy stuff sucked. + it had RMAH wich was ridiculous.

If I had to choose between the current trading system or an AH. I would easily choose an AH(ingame).

That beeing said, I wouldn't mind having some other form of trading to make it easier to trade stuff. The current trading system sucks alot. I feel it really pushes new players away from the game.

IMO
I wouldn't mind something if it was just a simple interface that allowed other players to see what I want to trade/sell...but a full on interface where you can search a massive database and complex sorting options NO! Would make the game way to easy like it was in D3, people didn't even bother to play the game without shopping the auction house! lol

It could be as simple as creating another 2 tabs in The Notice Board for trades and sales which would clean up the main tab for efficient party finding, and allowing people to link the item with a brief description underneath and what they want to sell/trade for it. When you hover over the link it would show off the item...just my 2 cents

Enjoy my award of best argument ever.

Way to debunk all the practical use of a AH with zero effort.

Hi

I think the advent of a gold oriented system also attributed to why AH sucked in D3 but in POE we don't got gold we got orbs thus we have a variety to sell from unlike only just one commodity:gold.

I am all for AH system but equally think if we could somehow have better in game searching for items, trade channel sucks!

Maybe we will have a AH Master? lol.

cheers
