[1.2.0] How to Smash Heads.Guide for a CI Facebreaker Witch with Infernal blow2
" False. Back in open/closed beta this was the case but not anymore. Try getting some %melee physical dmg nodes and tell me that your dps didn't increase. Last edited by EmAitch#3475 on Dec 30, 2013, 11:44:06 AM

Uhm... let's start with the resists shall we ?
I've made some calculation.. but i've missed something.. anyway.. have this new screenshot... and if want i'll make 6-7 screenshots and i'll put them all togheter to see that my tree is exactly the same as the posted
Spoiler
As you can see the screen is made in act 3 Merciless.. so no extra auras... Oh and my tree gives me 34% all resists ... look more carefuly :) Lets try with the lightning resist - 34% form the passive skill tree + 8% from bandit reward in normal + 10% from my shield + 39% from Ring1 + 18% from Ring2 + 10% from Amulet + 20% from Boots -60% from Difficulty OR 34+8+10+39+18+10+20-60=139-60=79 And now for the fire resist - 34% form the passive skill tree + 8% from bandit reward in normal + 10% from my shield + 12% from Ring1 + 35% from Ring2 + 16% from Amulet + 20% from Boots +15% from chest -60% from Difficulty OR 34+8+10+12+16+20+15-60=150-60=90 Futhermore i've explained several times that if someone can't get enough resists from his/her gear he/she must spend more passive skill points into resists ( like if you can't get legacy rainbowstrides) For your Theory about the - resists + elemental reflect while using Infernal blow i'd suggest that you check out the Overgrown Ruins and Shore map boss fights. Using Life leech gem + Blood Rage + the life leech from the tree provides enough leech to not kill yourself. Oh and the videos are even without a life leech gem... so that pretty much selfexplenatory Any other remarks ? " Interesting. You are absolutely right about that. 20% more physical damage from let's say Daresso's Courage(i've tested it ith this shield ) increases my DPS with around 1700. It's not much, but it's more than i've expected. I guess this changed after 1.0.0 and i guess it wasn't mentioned in any patch notes( or i've missed it ). Still this doesn't change anything for this build because there are no easy accecable physical/melee damage nodes. So basicly you need to spent around 3 skill points to get 1700 more DPS( or that's around 4% DPS increase in my case) assuming that you can get those nodes right away( which you can't ) so my comment that skill points spent on % physical damage is a waste of perfectly good skill points is still valid and i stand by it! Uh, capping elemental resists seems really easy with this build, I'm at 77/82/77(83/98/139) with only self found items and no sacrifice at all on damage, don't see what you're ranting about EmAitch.
I've never died to reflected damage (but I only do maps up to 73 at the moment), if there's reflection I add Life Leech gem... Not quite sure how you were ever able to bypass those 2 30 DEX nodes Korgoth, I have 127 DEX with them, if I remove even one I can't use Faster Attacks and Blood Rage anymore, I really need to find a good amulet to make up for this, and even then I'd probably still at least need one. :\ Still loving the build, thanks for posting it. Well Balbafu i owe my dex to my amulet ... btw it had no dex when i got it ( very long time ago ) but the RNG gods were kind to me and i rolled high dex... unfortunately the next used exalted orb gave me only 7 ES .. and that was before the Eternal Orbs were introduced -_-
Anyway i'm still happy with my amulet. In my opinion all you need is 109 Dex in order to level up your Faster attacks to level 20(hatred requires 94...or was it 96?) and keep the blood rage at level 10(it requires 104 dex) because you'll get 6% life leech from it at level 17 when it requires 138 dex.. so at level 10 with 5% life leech is enough. Pardon me, I didn't consider that you took the 8 resist all instead of the 18% physical damage. 18% is pretty good considering the Witch doesn't get ANY physical damage nodes.
So you can do -resist and elemental resist mods in low level maps SOLO. So what? Anyone with 4k+ HP can do that too. Do this in a 6 man group where mobs HP are more. Your videos are proof that Vaal Pact will only save you against the reflect you receive from your hit against enemies, NOT the explosion afterwards. It's not Theory that you can 1 shot yourself with Infernal Blow due to reflect. I was never talking about killing yourself due to the reflect you suffer from HITTING mobs, I'm talking about the corpse explosion. Your ES drop to half from the reflected corpse explosion. Vaal Pact is great in that it heals you to full from half ES (caused by reflect), but what you have become oblivious to is the fact that you CAN 1 shot yourself from exploding more than 4 magic mobs in a higher lvl -resist/ele weaknes+ele reflect+more mob hp map. If Vaal Pact works the way you think it does, then you would never have dropped to half ES, you'd be full ES all the time after the reflected explosions. The only reason why you haven't died thus far to reflect is because you have 5k+ ES. Someone else following your guide who don't have as good ES gear as you, thus lower ES pool, WILL end up killing themselves to reflect. I don't care if you had 100% life leech; I don't care if you have 77% Fire Resist; I don't care if your Infernal Blow did 10k dps or 44k dps; I don't care if you have Vaal Pact or not; I don't care if you use Aegis or Rathpith; I don't care if you have 0% block or 75% block/spell block; YOU WILL STILL DIE using Infernal Blow the moment reflected corpse explosions exceed your ES/HP pool. The biggest drawback to Infernal Blow is the fact that Infernal Blow's corpse explosion reflect is NON-BLOCKABLE. Last edited by EmAitch#3475 on Dec 31, 2013, 2:47:01 AM

Uhm... once again i'm without life leech gem in these videos ( btw life leech gem linked to infernal blow affects the explosions and the y leech life aswell ). Once again i did high level maps with such mods.. i'm sorry that i don't have a video of every map run that i did .. i believe that you'll have a hard time finding a thread with more videos than this one.. In the said videos i kill the monsters with the attack ( all magic btw , because map bosses have a magic monster pack with them ) but the explosions deal damage to the monsters that were further away and to the boss himself. Again this is WITHOUT life leech gem(for some reason it slipped my mind at that time but the theamazingjojo reminded me that(thank you for that) which i said it again AFFECTS THE EXPLOSION AND THEY LEECH BACK LIFE!
I can't comment on the party play because ( just as i said many times ) i DON'T CARE about party play. As simple as that. And about the low ES high damage thing? Well everyone should put some thought in his/her gameplay... if you still run a -20% max resists + ele reflect map and you have 50k DPS and 2k ES than something is seriously wrong with how your brain works... tl;dr - i'm yet to die to reflect... your theory remains a theory because it is not prooven by my gameplay experience. About the the bandit rewards... your lack of knowledge on the subject is... disturbing.. read the wiki(or play more) and educate yourself on the matter ... Oak gives 18% physical damage in CRUEL, in normal he gives 40 life ( should i explain why you don't need 40 life with this build? ), Aliara gives 40 mana ( should i explain why you don't need 40 life with this build? ), and Kraytin gives 8% to all resistances.. the obvious choice, killing all isn't such a bad idea too. And should i explain again the fact that 18% more physical damage will give me around 1500 DPS... which in my case is pretty much nothing ? I thought that we were clear on this point... " Yes if the reflect exceeds hp / es in one hit, you die. Everyone knows this. You are wrong about 2 things ... the explosion can be spell blocked / dodged, and it does NOT increase with more players, only by the rare % life or map % life mods. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/13719/page/23 But even with double reflect and 5k es and 50k hp mob, and -25max res and using a potion and purity of fire (final res of 64%) its difficult to do that 50000 x 0.25 x 0.33 x 0.36 = 1485 taken with 8.8% life leech, 50000 x 0.25 x 0.088 = 1100 leeched Thats 385 net per mob, but you can spell block most of it then. And an extreme case with -max res and double reflect (rare mob on map). Its really difficult to die from the reflect with vaal pact. Builds without vaal pact die in half a second though. Vaal pact lets you take damage before it heals you, thats why it always drops on first hit taken and yoyos in a fight. But it doesnt matter if you hit 1 mob or a 1000 mobs, if you survive one hit then you survive all, because it all happens on a per hit basis. You dont take the damage from 4 hits first, then the healing of 4 hits after. Its damage-heal per hit. Yes his build is a bit glass cannony sometimes, nearly all his builds are, and he has pretty good gear to boot. It is what it is. I like his playstyle lol Last edited by theamazingjojo#6642 on Dec 31, 2013, 6:13:56 AM

Btw i'm currently considering the possibilty to go with this shield
Instead of the Aegis Aurora. With it i end up with 7024 ES which is pretty good. Currently im playing with the Rare shield to test it out and that's why i havn't updated the gear section and the sreenshot of my defenses. But from the look of it i'll probably ditch the Aegis Aurora and stick with the Titanium Shield. The only thing that holds me back is the fact that AA helps vs huge desyncs ( atleast they happen on very rare occasions ) "I'm going to show you pain you never knew existed, you're going to see a whole new spectrum of pain!!!!! Like a RAINBOW!"

" AA isnt that great if you dont have the armor for it I think that shield and Rathpith on swap for when you need spell block, or permanent SOL amulet, is great. 7k ES really helps in some maps |
