Ah that is right, yes. Tho when you throw three fire traps into normal mob pack, all of them explode at the same time. So the problem occurs only (atleast for me) when you're killing small packs or single mobs/bosses. And yes this does drop the damage output a bit. Usully I when I throw a set of fire traps, I instantly throw ice nova trap after them. This way when the first fire trap triggers, they get full dmg from it. Then the ice nova triggers, full dmg from it again. Now the mob/mobs start walking towards me and take a full dmg from second fire trap. Aand before they can even reach the third fire trap my shock nova traps are flying towards them. Of course this is just the ideal situation, it doesn't always go like this :P

I noticed nothing has been discussed about Clever Construction (Traps cannot be destroyed for 5 seconds).

Is this too situational of a node to be useful? (ie. Dominus Cyclone Miniboss, Stomherald,etc)
I am currently not using reduced duration gem. Is it gonna affect EE mechanism without the instant trigger? I kinda like it when I can put traps in front of big mobs and then run and repeat it again, without actually getting close to them. So I replaced reduced duration with cold penetration and lightning penetration instead for more dmg.
Ice nova - multiple traps or ice nova - ele prolif? which has better freeze status spread?

after upgrading my shield (change to dual dagger) currently fire trap has 860 avg dmg and 36 crit :) Still use shock nova 14% because 20% is so expensive :(

The only difference it would make is vs cycloners which includes one of the exiles and one of the uniques before Dominus. And they're still killable it just takes longer. I haven't had any problems with storm heralds like someone mentioned on one of the last few pages or anything else for that matter killing my traps.

This Builds first start to shine when you get The boots. The belt is way of my available resources at the moment but just the boots makes the build really fun.



I'm running with these currently. To afraid to try to roll them for 4 ATM and link them. Once I have more mats I'll try. Also Bear trap is there because I was not able to make the colors BBG for Shock Frost and Multi traps :(. Will try again later.

The build is hell of a fun one, and reminds of the TrapSins from D2.

the 4L deerstalker boots is not that expensive, just the colours need to be correct and that could take lots of chrom.

I got BBBG deerstalker boots and put shock nova-ele prolif-lightning pen-multipletraps.
Take out reduced duration, this way it has more dmg...so personal preference i guess. Or just whichever colour you got for the 4th link. If red then reduced duration, if blue then lightning pen.
It is a little bit hard right now (lv70) because i don;t take EB (my ES is low so there is no point), so i can only run clarity (pretty fragile on last maps of merciless IMO). Need to revamp the chest and helmet for ES so I can finally use 2 aura.

The tooltips is really low numbers, I am always amazed when other has 20-30K dps at my level o_O I feel so noob lol
Tooltip average damage is going to be low for us since we rely on elemental equilibrium, shock, and proliferation. My avg DMG for fire trap is 1.9k and I clear faster or as fast as other people with 10k+ dps. Another thing to consider besides burning and proliferating my fire traps do around 700 dps to enemies that stand in the fire. Both that DMG and the initial boom with EE add up to a lot of damage especially when enemies are shocked stacked.

Edit: oh and the fire pen gem we use which is at 34% for me. Idk how the numbers add together but EE is 50% and High Explosives(passive) is 10%. If they add together that's 84% fire pen. then each shock stack which is like 20 or 30% more damage and you can have three of those.

yeah, the tooltip doesn't really do justice since we play with lots of status effect and -res. Thus I never got engaged in conversation about dps (I mean how should I answer that without math calculation lol)
What I like about this build is the mobility, since we just throw and run all the time,so much fun.
What i dislike is the mana consumption but I believe with better gear it will not be a problem in the future.
Crit trapper or EE? Who has more damage?
Say trapper EE is not good with groups, right?

Not sure what build you are referring to. Have a link?

And I've heard people say EE isn't good in groups but in the groups I've been in it hasn't seemed to make much of a difference.
