Crit trapper or EE? Who has more damage?
Say trapper EE is not good with groups, right?

Not sure what build you are referring to. Have a link?

And I've heard people say EE isn't good in groups but in the groups I've been in it hasn't seemed to make much of a difference.

Look this build http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/588901
EE is amazing in groups, since it buffs everyone else's damage for the two elements you didn't hit the mobs with. Most melee char will have most of their ele dmg from Hatred, so it might be better to throw the traps in the reverse order instead when you're in a group. The freeze doesn't really matter, as they'll be focusing your party members anyways.
For builds that use specific elements (ie. spork totem, ice crit witch, Infernal Blow), you just have to make sure that you aren't throwing the trap of that element last. In fact, this will provide them with a nice dmg boost, as the resists to the element they're using will be lower by 50, making their skills hit that much harder.
Hi I just have a quick question: Would this build be more optimal as a Scion or a Shadow?

Both classes have good access to similar nodes, so I was wondering which class is optimal for this build. Thanks.
after getting killed in a blink of seconds by rare lightning trap monster at sceptre of god, I am interested to know if anyone try out the effectiveness of lightning trap vs shock nova?
I want to try it but i don't have high level lightning trap so it won't do anything justice as comparison.

There are two big differences between the two. The first is the damage pattern. Lightning trap deals damage at the center and then has projectiles that spread outward, while shock nova hits a big aoe with the center of the ring not taking damage at all.

Before you get sunblast and a reduced duration gem linked to shock nova, I personally prefer the damage pattern of lightning trap.

HOWEVER, the biggest difference between the two skills is in the quality. A quality 20 shock nova has a 30% chance to shock (on top of your crit chance). I would say that after your boots and belt, getting a quality 20 shock nova is THE most important item in this build. Q20 shock nova with elemental proliferation is just so ridiculously fantastic at spreading shock stacks, which is why people use it, and why when you're playing, you toss out the shock traps first.
So would cold snap be a better option then Ice nova, for the extra freeze chance?

I dont think alpha howl would be optimal since were already lossing significant life and resistance from the sunblast belt... But if it was to work, what 3rd aura would you take?

The biggest difference between cold snap and ice nova is that cold snap has better freezing, but ice nova is a MUCH larger aoe.

So on ice nova you remove multiple traps because the aoe is so big, which gets rid of the 40% less penalty from multi-trap. Remember that the less penalty is a multiplier after all your other increase/decrease modifiers, so it's a huge difference on that.

The other perk to running a single ice nova is that you only have a total of 7 traps out at once, which is equal to your cap if you don't get master sapper passive.

I think to make alpha's howl worth it you would need to also get the charisma cluster which would take 5 points, so maybe if you're level 90+ you could consider it... If I personally went for that, I'd probably take discipline, grace, and clarity, move my bear trap into my 3L weapon, and then get a 6S/5L chest with fire trap and then arctic armor in the extra socket. My guess is that if you got discipline and clarity both in the alpha's, you could run a decent level arctic armor as well. The problem is just deciding whether that's worth those extra 5 passives that I think you'd really need for the charisma cluster. That's 40% max hp nodes, which is a pretty big sacrifice.
RNG Gods finally smiling for me. I've been saving currency to finally buy a 5L carcass, and then randomly one drops for me today (2L, 3S). I thought what the hell, atleast I can try crafting it into 4L or something. Ended up with this :

Total currencies used : 9 x Jewelers, 6 x Fusings and 4 x Chromatics

EDIT : Why does it have to look so terrible IG :(
