[1.0.2] Tri Element Trapper

This is the beauty of this *build*
You can use a lot of different skills and combination.
Level 67 atm, with a shock nova without quality, i dont have any kind off problem.

This is my stuff (the icetomb is a lucky drop and is a very good unique until now, and the BBGR cost me around 80 chromatics, but i am really lucky with chrom and i drop/buy at vendor them a lot):

Didnt took the Mind over Matter, i did i respec it because it as sucking my mana out, but now i have a very good mana regeneration so i'll see that.
But still i dont take that much damage, use potions not that often.

Right now, im trying to see if the *Troll's blood* is really good, im used to play marauder cac so kind of different playstyle...
If troll's blood is not that usefull i will respec the whole area from Mind over Matter and take the 2 +6% to all elemental resistance available around and think about taking the whole trap node in the East-North-East area.

Still, i wanted to play trap for a long time, played fire trap with the searing bond in Softcore but i was lacking something.
Now with 4 traps and one curse, the gameplay is very active and so nice.

Thank you arkon!!! :D

Found this shield recently, I think it has the best mods for Trapper:

93% increased Crit Chance, which is HUGE
46 mana + 219 mana from ES = 265 mana, again HUGE
42% mana regen, great as well
and, as a bonus, 9% all resists.

Sold all my trapper stuff yesterday, so I haven't tried what % crit chance would that make in the end. :(
Anyway, if anyone's interested, it's for sale (Domination League).

Curious what kind of gear you guys have been using during your leveling up phases? Just looking for critical strike and mana?
Hi guys!
I like fire trap because is the first ability gem I liked first time I've tried this game, so I liked the idea of a trapper but I've some questions:

-How many are the dps from the traps?

-How good is this build against bosses like piety and dominus in merciless, both solo and in party?

-This build have a good survivability and damage in merciless or in high lvl maps, both solo and in party?

Thank you in advance!!!

Actually I've been able to boost my DPS and general map clearing ability with elemental weakness, I'm thinking of ditching the cast on damage taken setup and making EW manually cursed, maybe with increased AOE/faster casting, who knows. But that's solved/helped my issues with shock nova.
If you had the option to, would you use Atziri's Foible for crazy mana and mana regen? or would a ammy with resists/crit chance be better

I know I shouldn't be answering but, I got most of my resists through the rings, and other pieces of gear. I still am using Atziri's Foible and Cloak of Defiance to get a decent mana pool and regen. Level 78 with this build now, I have solo'd every single map I ran (66-71s) and can farm Piety fairly quick.
Im close to 70 right now but I'm failing to see where this build really shines, maybe someone can help me.

I'm doing everything the way I should be, lay down my shock nova trap (16%) and then a moment later lay down my fire and ice novas so not to overwrite any traps. It does pretty good in large monster packs, nothing to complain about there (kills them in 1-2 trap rotations usually, even magic mobs die pretty quick).

The problems I have are mainly with smaller groupings of enemies and bosses, even rares sometimes are slow.

1) Unique/Bosses seem to be hit or miss with how fast they die, very inconsistent. Usually though, anything with high enough health will take an extremely long time to die. Peity is the best example, besides the fact that her running and teleporting around manages to waste half my traps, she gets enough time to get her ES back up and then by the time my traps can get it down she teleports to the other side again and it recharges.

2) Fire trap damage is very very random. Sometimes (not usually) the ignite and burn damage will seem to do crazy damage, but other times I will crit with fire trap and the ignite does next to nothing. I'm rotating my traps properly; setting up a shock nova (16%) first, waiting a split second so by the time my fire/ice novas come out I dont overwrite any traps. Ice nova goes off last, very quickly/soon after the fire trap and sets the fire resist back to -50% as intended with this build. Even being very meticulous with the trap timing and getting them all to go off properly, I find I still do really crap damage to uniques/bosses.

I figure this somehow will improve with more crit, but I have no way to verify. Sometimes if I herd a large group of monsters around a boss, the boss will seem to take more damage than if there wasnt a large pack (I imagine this has to do with greater trap coverage and elemental prolifs spreading status effects).

My gear is below, let me know what Im doing wrong. Im over-capped on resists right now but I don't really have the orbs to trade for much better at the moment. Eventually I want a lot more crit and HP. Getting killed right now isn't a huge issue, it doesnt happen very often.

About 18% chance to crit with my traps, 2300hp, 2200mana, somewhere around 500-750 damage on my various traps (avg damage listed). Running grace and clarity. 180mp/s regen, max elemental resists (low on chaos).

I just wanted to say that this is the first build i've ever been moderately successful at in Nemesis. It has the benefit of ignoring soooo many of the nemesis mods. If anyone else is looking to use this build in nemesis, I have just two recommendations.

1) Get the trap node that makes your traps invulnerable for 5 seconds. This makes storm heralds so much less annoying it's insane.
2) Focus on life nodes before you get crit nodes. I think I was level 65 and had 3.5k life before I invested a single point in crit passives. I will admit that crit is really what makes this build shine, due to status effects and elemental pro, but survivability is #1 in hardcore, and I survived totally fine all the way till I was doing piety runs for gear.

Thanks for the great ideas in this guide!
Current passive tree is for lvl 85. How should we spend additional 5 passive points at lvl 90?
