I am unsure of how to produce item templates, but I hope that does not reduce my odds

The Slinger Serpent Wand
Physical Damage 75-150
Fire Damage 75-150
-50% Spell Damage
+50% projectile speed
Attacks on low life produce Frenzy charges.

He appeared in a flash of light, a mishap of some accursed sorcery
He wore a star upon his chest, took half a dozen of our men in an instant
In his hands hot steel, what bizarre machination is this?

As many as you can think of.

What happens to the other 2 avatars? You have 5 to your name, right? ;-)

Oh and Yay!

Still working on my entry.
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-
Titan Sanctuary
Colossal Tower Shield
Elemental Equilibrium
(70 to 80)% increased block chance when above low life
(80 to 95)% increased armor when above low life
+(23 to 26)% resistance to all elements
Regenerate 1.5% of maximum life per second
Adds (12 to 15) - (21 to 24) cold damage
Adds (6 to 9) - (32 to 35) lightning damage
50% increased damage when on low life
50% increased movement speed when on low life
100% increased maximum health when on low life

The gentle giant who defended his home with this shield was mocked as a coward... until his guard was broken.

Not sure if I should explain what I'm going for here, but what the hell. I haven't done any sort of balancing on this since it's a proof of concept (I haven't won anything yet!). The intent is to design a really awesome mixed item - one for Blood Magic users, and also for Necromantic Aegis minion builds. The Elemental Equilibrium, plus the cold and lightning damage, is shamelessly added to make minions apply a -50% resistance to fire damage. Then, when they hit low life, they receive a 50% bonus to all damage... and then explode for 35% of their health, plus all relevant damage boosts.

Blood Magic users get a decently strong shield (increased block, armor) and health regeneration. If they're not tanks, they can use auras to drop themselves below 35% health, and then safely stay there with the 100% increased maximum health, which is designed to allow people to go below 35% and not immediately jump back up (you'd be at 17.5% of maximum health after initially dropping below 35%). After healing above 35% of your new maximum health, you'd lose the 100% maximum health bonus and be at a nice 70% of your original maximum health. Nice and safe after your horrifying rampage.

It... needs serious balancing. It could probably stand to lose a few of the damage boosting mods... say, the elemental damage, equilibrium and such. But I think it's cool. I like to think that the guy who used it was some hermit giant being attacked by bandits, and when they eventually hurt him enough, he basically turns into the Hulk and kills them all.

I can imagine him being just like Hawkeye Gough from Dark Souls. Here is a picture I took - he's the big guy. He'd make an awesome avatar.
IRON MAN
Okay, here I go with my own ideas. Not using the template because I am bad at paint/photoshop/whatever...

Fallen Squall
Tornado Wand (level 65)
Skills in this item are supported by level 10 Lesser Multiple Projectiles
+120-140% increased physical damage
Adds (20-30) to (40-50) physical damage
+30% increased attack speed
-70% increased weapon elemental damage
+30 projectile deviation

FT: Some say that on that day, a little bit of the heavens fell...
Comments: This is intended to be a late-game wand for wand users who want to rely on physical damage instead of elemental. It does add quite a lot of physical damage and attack speed, but most of your elemental goes away. Projectile deviation means that attacks you make with the wand randomly deviate (up to 30 degrees) from where you aim it, so it's not good at long range.
Appearance: Grey, shiny, but also very fragile looking.

The Horizon
Sniper Bow (level 44)
+140-160% increased physical damage
Adds 10-20 physical damage
+70-100% increased critical strike chance
+70-100% increased critical damage
-100% increased attack speed
+25-40% increased attack range
+50-70% increased projectile speed

FT: Forget about the past, of mistakes made, of friends lost. Cast your eyes to the edge of the world, and your next target.
Comments: Another strong physical ranged weapon. The bow's horrible attack speed won't appeal to all. On the plus side, you can hit things that you'll never even know were there, and the high speed of the projectiles makes them harder to dodge
Appearance: Bowstring has numerous complex supports.

Blacktooth
Gold Amulet (level 8)
+20-30% chaos resistance
+8-14% increased item quantity
Rending Strike*
Reserves 40% of life when equipped

FT: Go ahead. Take my life. Take my wealth. You will be mine in the end. And it will be sweet.
Comments: Most obviously useful for Pain Attunement builds, reserving some of their life while giving them chaos resistance. Rending Strike is an effect they probably won't get a lot of use out of though - this causes your physical attacks to add the effects of level 1 Puncture on a critical hit.
Appearance: Looks like a tooth from some beast or other set into a gold chain. It's twisted and charred.

Corpulent Spine
Wyrmbone Rapier (level 37)
Adds (10-17) to (40-55) chaos damage
10-20% of physical damage converted to chaos damage
+30% increased skill duration
Critical hits poison enemies
Enemies slain by chaos damage rise as zombies

FT: Whatever unknowable thing this once was a part of, it's long gone now.
Comments: A chaos-damage melee weapon. The added chaos damage is about equivalent to the base damage of the rapier, more or less. Turning victims into zombies may not help most rapier-users directly, but it will come in handy against necromancers.
Appearance: Looks like a long-dead creature's rib bone with traces of black slime. There basically isn't a hilt, really.

Aurora
Wraith Sword (level 55)
+60-85% increased physical damage
+30-40% increased weapon elemental damage
+7-10% increased attack speed
-50% strength requirement
Force of Will*

FT: If the fault is in that you are an underling, become the stars.
Comments: A two-handed sword good for int-heavy characters. Force of Will is the opposite of Iron Will - you add Int instead of Str to melee damage
Appearance: Smooth and glossy-black, studded with white pinpoint lights all around the blade.

Serenity of the Temple
Gemmed Circlet (level 26)
+40-55% increased energy shield
+25-30% increased fire resistance
+25-35% increased area of effect with remote mine skills
+25-35% increased damage with remote mine skills
Remote mines detonate instantly
Can create 1 additional remote mine

FT: Until my dying breath, I will defend this sacred place. None shall pass, and none shall stand.
Comments: Remote mine skills don't seem to get a lot of love, do they? Maybe something like this would help?
Appearance: Polished transparent or white gems are held together by a thin metal mesh.

I think that's enough ideas for now.

I have a quick question: How does the "top three" get selected? If I understood correctly, every judge picks 3 items and then the winner gets selected by RNG. That implies there is no "hierarchy" between the selected contributors, right?

Or is there going to be some sort of voting among the judges?

Thanks! Epic news by the way.

so each judge group picks 3. that totals 12 or less depending if a item gets selected by multiple judges.

The 12 (or less) will then be assigned a number. i will use a random number gen 3 time.

1st wins the avatar and the unique
2nd wins a avatar
3rd wins a avatar

the remaining win a beta key.

So the goal is to make it in to the top 12. then its all random!

"The 5x Diamond Supporter"
"Void Spike"

Dragonbone rapier.
lvl 58.
90-110% Increased physical damage.
16 to 63 physical damage.
3% physical damage lifeleech.
50% increase global critical strike chance.
Remove all weapon elemental damage.

Good, but not best mid game item for phys damage tanky characters, can be used as 2nd weapon set with elemental builds for killing ele reflect monsters.

Next item is Everquest 2 reference.
