So... Is this build dead? Or is it still viable?..

im lvl 70 and im still using the EK variation of this build. It is definitely still viable. the only reason why i dont play it as often atm is because if i crit into a pack of mobs i disconnect from the massive amount of EK on the screen.

Well can't you just lower the amount of ek gems you have on your gear?

Why you use more than one EK gems on your chest, boots and gloves? Actually I am wondering why you use so much EK gems? One gem is not working?

PS: I am newbie. :)

Sorry for my bad English. Maybe I asked so stupid questions IDK :D

More EK=more damge since both are rolled to trigger when linked to CoC after you crit.
Edit to mention it: And all are cast when linked to CwDT.

Why should turbosnake start over? He just has to grind some to level his EK in the chest and buy or find some better daggers. His build is totally fine. And he has probably alot of respecpoints left, so respeccing out of Pressure Points shouldn't be to hard.
While trying out stuff I specced 3 times in and out of Mana Flows and still have respec points left.
One additional small tip turbosnake: Make sure you really need the +30 strengh from Beef and didn't take it blindly.
Oh, and you did help Oak in cruel, didn't you? Probably the biggest possible damage increase for EK there is.

I think you misread. I wasn't suggesting he start over. I wasn't even suggesting spending the regrets. I was stating there are a few items that, had he started over, I would have done differently.

Crit chance > projectile dmg for this build.

Why would you want to do that? EK is the main source of damage.

Btw, the EK's from the CwDT link will never trigger in boss fights. We just kill too fast (with Cyclone+Blood Magic+Life Leech+CoC+EK+EK). I've been working on some better setups for the CwDT - well, at least in my oppinion - still testing though. When I'm done testing and satisfied i'll post em here for your oppinions.

This is simply not true.

Easy test. Go and buy one of the special animations for EK and place it only on one of the skills linked to the CwDT gem and go fight Dominus or a map boss then watch how much it will trigger.

Mine trigger all the time through all phases of Dominus when I farm him and in every map boss I do. Some more than others due to their nature, but still enough to make the investment worthwhile.

There is some utility in placing Critical Weakness, Ice Spear, Dev Totem, etc... in one of the CWdT for additional utility, depending.

The best option really is to suit your gems to your fight. Use your second weapon slot to keep gems leveled.
I've made a variation of this build intended for Nemesis league but I'm not sure if it's viable or not. I'm level 62 right now and so far reflect wont even touch me. Lightning Thorns is probably the ultimate killer of this build and this is the best way I can think of to deal with it. Can someone with some good theory crafting skill calculate how much of a mana pool/mana regen you end up with with a build like this:

My plans are to use evasion/energy shield gear, have Eldritch Battery, Mind over Matter and Vaal Pact. If we spec some better auras nodes we might have enough of mana regen (with our nodes) with Clarity to run a somewhat high level Arctic Armour. If we also run Grace (with Iron Reflexes) then we will probably be pretty much immune to physical reflect damage. If we have a big enough mana buffer left after Clarity and Grace to absorb damage through Mind over Matter, and also Vaal Pact, could we maybe survive Lightning Thorns?

My skill gem setup is:

6L Spectral Throw - Cast on Critical Strike - Power Charge on Crit (might change this) - Life Leech - EK - EK.

4L Cast When Damage Taken - Life Leech - EK - EK.

Well, we both misunderstood each other than here. I really read that you thoght he should start over.
And, hm, this was clearly badly expressed by me. I mean that they don't trigger because we kill too fast so we don't take the needed damage. Especially when the CwDT is level 17 or even higher.
Hello everyone. I have followed this build, but I have a slight problem. Should I REALLY take Iron Reflexes in early? I found when I face a ranged mob, I have to use my potions often rather than when I doesn't take it early. I know this skill is important for CwDT, but I haven't got this yet. Or maybe my play style is not correct?

What is the most importants on daggers ? (Crit. Base %, Spell Incre?, Crit?. Chance Spell?, etc...)

Why not use Wand ?

Thank you for everyone =)

Crit Chance -> Spell Damage

Wands won't give you enough crit chance individually and not enough wand crit nodes. Also, cyclone.

Take it when you feel like it. For me personally this build started to form out when I reached around level 60. Then I switched to daggers ... you can easily play as you like (I suggest ST with a high phys 2h weapon) as long as you follow the skilltree. There aren't any "only dagger" nodes early on anyway. Well, this went a bit offtopic.

BTT: Take it when you feel like it :). And it isn't important for CwDT but for Grace (gives eva->we have plus %eva nodes->converted to armour->we have plus %armour nodes, not to forget the increase of aura effect, so 1866 eva becomes 5850 armour).
