DonaldF's EK DANMAKU Ranger Extremely High DPS /Jan.14 little update [Videos]
What gems should I focus on getting quality on?
I have a 20% EK, 20% Cyclone and 14% Cast on Crit. The increased chance to ignite on Fireball doesn't seem necessary, and the Life Leech quality bonus is useless if you use Vaal Pact? Maybe Critical Weakness, Immortal Call or Increased Duration? |

@drake, yeah you're probably right. It can help on tough targets though but even those cannot stand the power of two rapid fire attack spells, I have nice results with only 1 even.
This is one of the most powerful builds I've used, only thing I'm bothered with is relatively low health pool. Although I can mitigate tons of physical and have caped resi sometimes various combined damage /crits /reflect /thorns surprise me and I die which is OK sub 70 but later ... There is unused life cluster up near pain attunment, perhaps I'll grab it. @Exiled wanderer I think you've got most important gems covered. CoC seems like most important btw. LL - you're right. CritW - yes I like having some Q on that too but if you're crit is high is hardly crucial. IC+ID for CwDT setup - I tried this setup, was lower lvl true but I foud it unpredictable and not as good as my previous setups. Now I'm on "maximum distraction" + maximum end charges and it seems like flawless combo very often, I'm always in crowd of my minions.

Increased chance to ignite? Why you would want to cripple yourself with that, pure attack spell always does better then support spell in this build (except maybe increased criticals) What is your gem/chest setup? By increased chance to ignite I meant the quality bonus on Fireball.
I'm only lvl 26 right now, so I don't have a setup going yet. I was however thinking of the following: Dagger 1: Whirling Blades, Faster Attacks, ??? Dagger 2: CwDT, Critical Weakness and Increased AoE Chest: Cast on Crit, EK, Cyclone, Fireball, Blood Magic and Life Leech Helmet: Reduced Mana, Hatred, Purity of Elements and Grace Gloves: CwDT, Enduring Cry, Immortal Call and Increased Duration Boots: Undecided |

Also I like defensive on CwDT, casting curse on some monsters will get you killed even sooner Chest: Cast on Crit, EK, Cyclone, Fireball, Blood Magic and Life Leech /y, with 6L why not, I suggest you wear alternative attack for different occasions on other weapons like arctic breath or arc Helmet: Reduced Mana, Hatred, Purity of Elements and Grace Gloves: CwDT, Enduring Cry, Immortal Call and Increased Duration Boots: Undecided /you'll need lightning warp, decoy totem... If you read thru last 10-15 pages you'll find some gear examples and gem setups from other players. IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath

I use blood magic + faster casting + critical weakness or enfeeble on 2nd dagger.
Crit weakness is amazing, it will almost double your dmg output at 20/20. Enfeeble is also great for some situations. Thing with using them manually is that you can level them. It also gives you great control, for example CW on CWDT could kill you vs a phys reflect pack if you dont use vaal pact... Or any piety, you kind of want to enfeeble her before she throws that big ball of lightning at your face, not after :) |

This will be the newbiest question of all times:
according to his list, he can only use whirling blades. The rest is on CwDT or CoC. Reading their description, you can't use those spells directly. But his video he uses cyclone.... I don't understand :(( So what skill do you use to trigger the rest? " |
|
Well CoC spells activate when primary attack (melee or ranged) crits, in this case cyclone will activate all linked attack spells, usually EK and either FB or discharge, whatever. CwDT will activate linked spells when you recieve damage. Simple. Whirling blades are used for quick re-positioning on battlefield. Or simple moving (but they work better with faster weapons) IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath [Build] TK's CoC Crit Shadow aka THE WELDER /view-thread/787487 [Shop] TK's Adventurers Pawnshop /view-thread/570071 Last edited by Thorien_Kell#5909 on Feb 5, 2014, 2:19:55 PM

Been wondering when I should switch to using CoC, Cyclone and EK. So far I have just been leveling with a bow and a few bow gems since that's what you start with at lvl 1.

i find after 40-50% crit chance u can switch to cyclone if u can support the cost. it really starts to shine after 70% crit. at that point i dont worry about mana or life. use surgeons life/mana flask. ur uptime on them is infinite.
those flask cap resists for me and i dont have to use purity. i use this cheap ass weapon until i got a good dagger. I noticed that you do not have a video of the CoCS EK Ranger Tank, so I made one for you. it does not use Spectral Throw as suggested in your guide because like Cyclone I prefer to be up close and personal to everything I kill, so I went with Double Strike instead (Cyclone does not crit enough anymore with single dagger).
A few alterations to the Passive tree were made and can be found here: and this is a video of lvl 70 coves. ░█▀▀▀░█▀▀█░█░░█░█░░░░█▀▀▀░░░░░█▀▀█░█▀▀▀░░░░░█▀▀▀░█▀▀█░▀▀█▀▀░█▀▀█░█▄░░█░
