DonaldF's EK DANMAKU Ranger Extremely High DPS /Jan.14 little update [Videos]

heres my super cheap build/gear for volls EB version with coldsnap. its a 4L with no leech. cheapest version i could fathom. lvl 4 cwdt setup without immortal call. most important Qgems i would say are cyclone/coc.

some notes on purpose of things. purity of lightning for piety farming. run lvl 1 Q AA all times for permachill. 3L life leech in shield can be EK or whirly blades. this build requires high block/ES titanium type shield.

Was thinking about voll's too, certainly good approach but how the hell you manage resources? EB, some mana nodes but no leech? Is that tiny regen on ring enough?

Again, you use 3 auras? how the hell, you must work with ... how much mana? Cyclone can suck in like crazy. I know, I've tried.

And L.leech on lvl 1 whirling blades, lol, c'mon, you're not serious, are you? I know that if all is frozen you don't get hit much, but again ...

how high is your crit chance?

--73.9% cyclone crit with 5 power charge.
--40% on ek.
--297/1039 mana left. thats at lvl 18 reduced mana. lvl 9 clarity with hatred and purity of lightning.
--930 cyclone dps tooltip. i took mana leech node. its turns u into a mobile freeze mine. the whirly is better than u think.
--whirly 504 dps tooltip with power charge. Ek is easy replacement if u want to stand still....

flasks are the key i think to makin this type of build work. they have 0 downtime. normal mobs are 1 hit recharging u very fast on flasks.

the ranger IAS and scion IAS probly the biggest difference i added + noticed lacking on alot of builds. once u get 1.4 or higher attack speed dagger it improves dps much higher than you would think. makes me want to only look for ambushers as upgrades.

i dont expect alot from this guy but hes very good at farming lunaris 3/piety and cata. just gotta look for reflect and be smart. what else u need?

LOL. even including hatred, that second EK will still increase your DPS by less than 15%.
fireball on the other hand will increase it by about 70%.

a second EK is almost the worst choice you can make. the only things worst than a second EK are incinerate and spells that have a cool down.
ANY other attack will do more damage.
even ice nova would be better than a second EK.

you seem to be forgetting than YOU CAN'T FIRE 2 EK AT ONCE ANYMORE.
i repeat, FIRING OFF 2 EK AT ONCE ISN'T POSSIBLE ANYMORE since the patch 1.0.5

As we would all friend, but as from last patch treacherous developers included 0,25s (iirc) cooldown in same spell connected to CoC, effectively destroying true Daanmaku, and possible any similar CoC spam centered builds. Somehow I think they do it deliberately just to destroy Danmaku, which was pretty OP so we must understand them, although we do not have to like it :)

Why do you think true Danmaku "died" anyway? ;)

Attack speed does come in handy I admit, but there is rarely "room" for it, either in sockets on on dagger. Spell damage + high crit dagger beats fast one, I think, and any offensive spell (like fireball) will do lot more damage then faster attacks or added fire damage.

Since we agreed that other EK can't work, you have to pick some spell instead, which is not that terrible anyway, yes you lose hatred bonus but still some spells have quite high base damage (almost as high as EK) and can do other nice elemental effects too (like cold snap / freezing, shock stacks ...) so they 'make up' for loss.

Going ES/CI does remove need for BM but probably (as I can see I your gear setup) needs PCoC because of worse crit chance /so you effectively gain nothing in socket sense. 1 spot for offensive on 5L(EK) or 2 spots on 6L(EK + discharge or whatever), that is what you're doing now.

If you really had place for 3 slots, going without PCoC, best thing would be to use EK +FB +Arc, for example, then any combination you suggest - just how high would your crit chance be I wonder ...
