DonaldF's EK DANMAKU Ranger Extremely High DPS /Jan.14 little update [Videos]

Well looks like we're all stubborn. Dunno whos right, but heres a real short vid of me clearing a few days ago in a full map. I've leveled since then and now have 93 percent chance to crit on my main hand.

Nice that you're also a fellow EK-Discharger. Seen your video, aside from the 3.7K HP, everything else is awesome. Btw, since you're a HP Discharger, what is your 6L gem combi? Do me a favor, if you do quote this and reply please post it in my thread too, so my readers who choose to go the HP route will benefit.

Anyway, do check out my thread and leave some comments if you do have the time. I just uploaded two vids: One was Maze Twin Boss and the other was Shrine Physical Reflect.

Ultimately, I guess the good thing about my CI variant is that I can choose when to be tanky or not. I could easily drop my shield for another dagger for easier maps. If I do drop that 500es shield, my total ES with Discipline will probably be 6K+. Still much tankier than 3-4K HP. You can't do it with this Danmaku build. Of course the currency needed for my build will be way higher.

I've switched me tree up too, guess this was before... at 4100 hp now, though it doesnt feel much different than at 3.7.

I saw your reflect videos. The problem tho is that anyone can do reflect solo, gotta do it in a party to see if you actually can!

Yes, definitely can do it in parties. Even with Critical Weakness :) Without Grace I'm already at 30% Phys Reduction. With Grace I'm at 45% Phys Reduc. Main point of 9K ES is that you don't die at all. You just Cyclone to any pack in end-game 75-78 maps without worrying about death even being a possibility :) That's how I define end-game. With this Danmaku build of 3-4K HP, I doubt many can say the same.

If you're using Voll's Protector, you'll definitely do more DPS, since you get a Power Charge for every critical strike you do, while a 20/20 PCoC only gives 69%. But you pay for the poor defensive stats it provides, its always a give and take.

Well it's almost the same as ranger, you stretch to shadow terrain anyway.


Here is my tree however mine is modified for mana sustain of spells because i want 2 attack spells in my 5L armor (or 3 in 6L but that would probably be overkill :) - I can still take 2 auras and low level clarity on BM/life and it works wonderfully (with some mana regen and mana steal on jewelry)

If you like BM approach just don't take those mana nodes.

Otherwise you can nicely level with nice 2H unique like geofreys hammer or rigwalds charge with double strike, multistrike, added fire dmg and melee splash.

Hi skogar, I am interested in trying EK Discharge as I have a q19 discharge lying around. Do you mind posting/pm what you have changed from the original build? The only gear difference that I know of is that you use 6L volls. Otherwise I am pretty much in the dark, looking forward to your reply and thanks.

Seriously, you need to read more about armor. Earlier, you said how running Hatred instead of Discipline would decrease my armor, which was fundamentally wrong. Now you tell me taking off my shield will reduce my armor. My shield is an ES shield, for christ sake :)

Let's not mislead the other readers with such careless statements.

This guy does make many valid points nontheless. You've modified ex-Danmaku to work with CI 6L and discharge, increasing cost dramatically, introducing party problems, notorious sensibility to elemental effects, stuns, lowering crit chance .. etc while you seemingly didn't get that much.

I don't mean to say that your build is bad thou, it can work endgame same as ex Danmaku but time of triple EK and uber-OPnes has passed for both.

Do not get me wrong, drake1666 is one of the most veteran Danmaku players around here and I'm amazed by his experience and knowledge of HP-based Danmaku builds. I do not really blame him if he gets his armor knowledge wrong, afterall HP and ES customization is a world of difference. That's why I requested that he PM me, but he insisted on talking here so I have to correct him for the sake of other readers.

I'm enjoying this conversation with drake and Skogar really: To be able to have 2 really top players to reply to my posts is amazing because we all learn from each other.

Of course you don't mean my build is bad :) It works end-game, simple as that. It might do slightly lesser DPS than a 6L Voll's Protector/Carcass Jack, but unlike these 3-4K HP players I have 9K ES.
