I recently converted my 87 templar to CI using regular discharge and I would like some advice, mainly concerning armor and iron reflexes. Here is my skill tree :

and my gear (circlet, belt and spirit shield are trash and just temporary)

Spoiler

Currently at 4.6k ES but it'll go up with better circlet and shield. My main concern is the value of IR. Right now, I'm at 1.5k armor with IR, 500 without. Granted I have a granite running almost all the time, I was wondering if I should respec those points to get more ES, or keep running IR. I don't have enough mana to run grace unfortunately. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Why did you take the Athleticism node in the Templar starting area, if you're CI? You can take the Power Charge Duration passive to link your tree and respec those 3 points, so you get 2 extra points to put in useful passives.

Hello,

I just wanted to say "thank you" for this awesome build for lazy buggers like myself ;)

I respecced my witch 2 weeks ago, since I had almost all of the required gear sleeping in my stash. The first days were so so, since I needed to level my gems, but now, I just feel unstoppable. I just finished a double boss Jungle Valley with elemental reflect and enfeeble, the fight was over in less than 10s. I also destroyed the "new" Shock & Horror yesterday.

I can't wait for my discharge gems to reach level 20 and get these few extra points (level 83 at the moment) for even more crit chance / charges / ES.

It is not as if I really needed them though, they will just be some icing on the cake ;)

PS: Regarding power charges generators, I did several tests and the best setup is definitely, even with the 250 ms cooldown, 2 ice spears, because of the 600% second form crit chance. Way better and consistent than fireball, freezing pulse or firestorm.

Hi and thanks for sharing your experience!

This build is great for fine-tuning gem setups as we make use of all gem slots and wish we had more :).

Looking at gems in your gloves, do you think there is any difference if you take out one of two ice spears? They do not proc at the same time due to 250 ms cooldown, so for me it looks exactly the same as using just one ice spear. At least that's what I think and use one spear plus one fireball with cast when damage taken due to it. Maybe I am wrong?

On the other hand I use two ice spears with cast when stunned due to high crit rate of this spell that you mentioned as well. Two ice spears can not proc at the same time due to 250 ms cooldown, so some procs are wasted. But there are still more procs than with one ice spear. And I think that crit rate compensates for the lost procs.

I also use CwS+Discharge in Voidbringer gloves because Discahrge gets a free +1 level from the gloves. It can even become a 21 level discharge.

What about Bandits? (Normal,Cruel, Merciless)

I took resists/skill point/endurance charge.

Might drop resits with better gear or with Purity aura. Second aura needs a gem slot though and I don't want to take anything out :).

Hiho,
since I play a similar build like this in Domination and many people asked for a guide, i thought i might add to your very nice guide some Infos for Domination.

I play a Witch with Power and Frenzy Charges and this char has no probs to clear both 77 maps with up to 4 players (havent testet it with more). Only the bosses are still a problem and need a bit more time ;)

So this my Passive tree:

I Skilled the Aura effect, cause i use Purity of elements/Discipline, and 26% Effect just add a bit ES/RES

I Have about 4,8k ES and ofc full resi.
Damage of main Discharge is at max at 40k, doesn't sound to much, but is more then enough to hold you alive.

Favourite Maps are Junglevalley with 2 Bosses (MASS Spiders) and Museum with 2 Bosses (6 Uniques Bosses ;))

Problems occure due to thorned Shrine (DEADLY), havent testet ele reflect maps so far. Ele reflect bosses are no Prob ofc.
Some Bosses need a bit long to kill since, i dont have the nice advantage of volls devotion, and for Dominus i need about 1-3 Tps to kill him.

Soon i will change the Cast when Stunned on the second discharge to a lvled Cast on damage taken, since its sometimes risky to only rely on one 100% discharge.

Greetings

Thanks for sharing, very interesting! Glad it works in Domination as well :).

Hello,

I did some new tests with charge generators now that that my crit chance has grown higher and ice spear + fireball with GMP gives nice and consistent procs: I find myself with 6 power charges almost all the time, so all good, thanks for pointing that out :)

I had not thought of discharge in Voidbringer gloves for the extra gem level, silly me! Gonna swap boots > gloves asap...

One thing I did not mention in my previous post: tempest shield adds a nice chunk of damage, it's definitely nice to have.

How do you guys fare without Shavronne's Revelation ring? I'm asking because I'm still leveling my witch, and haven't made the transition to the full gem setup in this build. I don't have this ring yet, so it'd be good to know if we can actually run this build without it.

The ring adds quite a bit of survivability which scales with your ES. I was doing fine without it but did die here and there. I would say quite a few situations that end up a close call with the ring would have been death without it. And it speeds up clear time as you don't have to wait for your ES cooldown to refill your es if it gets low.

Anyway if you can handle a few deaths its viable without the ring. Its not a dealbreaker I don't think, just have to be a bit more careful.

Currently 7758 ES, level 84 Highest map i have seen so far is a level 77.
Any leveling tips ?? , got I a level 31 summon witch I am gonna respec... I am realy not satisfied with that ..so is it viable to just take this tree from Square one , and use it to level..or is that not a good idea..and if not..what to level it as // skill tree tips appriciated..much :)

Prob need to level up with some other standard build. This isnt viable untill you have Vaal pact,Ghost reaver and CI.

As with most CI builds the normal approach is to level with a life based build then use regrets to convert from life to ES and CI around level 60ish? I would think leveling as a standard manual discharge build would be fine, or Kripps burning discharge (more regrets), at least that way you would have some gems you will be using leveled already. Assuming you have the 2 Voll's items it should be easy enough.

Basic dishcharge build uses the 2 Volls items to roll discharges. Cast a LMPed ice spear to build power charges then run around and discharge. Just have to watch out for elem reflect.
