I just have a question regarding leveling, i find it really difficult to level and find myself dieing a lot, especially with large packs. Is there anything i am missing here? I am using a bow and i have 2 one handed swords in second weapon slot.

I am using Poison arrow on the bow and whirling blades on the swords.

No I can't, I am on a break and haven't been playing for months. For gear recommendation see page 2-3. Generally for Rangers always the same gear is good. The only thing important in this build is: Prefer a Lioneye's over Voltaxic.

The best defense is high dps. Check the discussion within this thread, other people have presented their gear which you could follow as an orientation.

In terms of playstyle, if you need blockers use summon skelettons with some additional life support gems or even a totem linked to it.
If you still die, your gear is way to bad. You need defense (evasion/arm), life and resistances. ALL of that, plenty.

out of curiosity what level did you get up to before you stopped playing? and were you able to clear 75+ maps?

I am asking because I was thinking to change to a bow build from playing a mellee build

Hi guys,

please read the recent questions. I cannot show anything myself because I am on a (mandatory) break right now. But if you want to see ranger gear you can check any of the other builds or youtube vids/streams, it doesn't make any difference in most of the cases. I am mentioning this over and over again:

What do you need to succeed in this game?
1) dps
2) survivability

How do we get (1) ?
- Via offensive gear and a good passive build
How do we get (2) ?
- Via defensive gear and a good passive build

This thread was mainly intended to provide the passive tree. In terms of gear you want:
defensively: life, evasion or armour or hybrid(both), all elemental res, chaos res
offensively: High phys dmg bow, e.g. Lioneyes Glare or better, a rare thicket with + 400 or more phys dmg. If you are skilled into crit nodes already, you can look for crit chance + multiplier gear as well. That's all there is to say about it.

If you want to know about a particular piece of gear, or if you wonder how to improve you gear, just post it here. I am sure someone will help you out.

It doesn't change the build a lot because it doesn't boost Lightning arrow in any way. You could use it for Frenzy though.

Hi, can I know which should I get? Attack speed or physical damage taken at Cruel Oak?

Hard to decide, both very good gems. Depends if you need more of a dps or defensive boost. If you don't know I'd opt for attack speed.
