Is there any reason to continue using a +2 minions helm if I'm snapshotting my zombies and have no reason to resummon them? I'm also not using animate guardian for the time being. Getting a +2 minions/high life/large amount of iir on a helm is scary expensive, and that's without any other useful stats like good resists or armor. Instead I could use a max iir helm with life and anything else useful once I've snapshotted the zombies, and simply know that I won't be able to resummon decent zombies on the fly. Which I wouldn't really be able to do anyways, since I don't have chober/sidhe/anything else readily available.

So basically I'm asking if having a helm other than a +2 will mess up snapshotting and cause them to not be increased in level when they re-zone. If the +2 will remain snapshotted, I'll give a regular helm a try. Thanks for any advice! Loving this so far. The budget build even easily soloed dominus with CoD specs.

You can change the helm in the same way you do it with the chest. So no, you dont need to wear the +2 helmet. But keep in mind to place the zombie gem in the same socket as it was in the other helmet.

I wonder how drastically the snapshotting will change in 1.0.6 patch... :O
Hello,
I'm lvl71 and build works great for me. Minions are near immortal. Storm heralds dont kill them once i started using saffell frame. Still undying evangelist are only creatures who can kill my BM. And if i meet them in packs with yellow mob i almost always ending resummoning BM. Any tips how to deal with them?

I have noticed that the best strategy for that is to run through and in circles around those evangelists, as their attack has a bit delay and is targeted AoE.

That's not how Righteus Fire works. It takes your total life as a base and applies all damage increases afterwards.

Yes, I made a small error in calculation. The conclusion still stands. I will edit it for clarity.

is this confirmed? did they specifically talk about snapshotting or just "change to summoners" in general?

any link to patch announcment would be appreciated ^^

It's not confirmed, but seems heavily implied. Who knows - maybe GGG isn't the sort to play the 'we know what's fun and we'll teach you what it is' card as far as balancing goes. It would be a hard sell to say that summoners are breaking the game, given the limitations of specs like these and the amount of groundwork that goes into them. Personally, mechanics that require planning and research delight me. They're easy ways to improve your character in ways that aren't connected to tooltips.

This is the primary source of summoner speculation, to my knowledge.

That's not even what I said, more damage is obviously better most of the time because increased damage numbers are so high, but when they are low, you need to look at it case by case.
