" No, I haven't But here is post about similar build without US: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/556177/page/17
Spoiler
" Also i have 2 questions. 1) About faster casting. I have 41% cast speed increased (36% from passives + Alira's reward + cybil's paw - anvil), 0.11sec cast time When I link faster casting support (it's non-quality and low level - add only 27% fcr now), cat time is 0.09sec. But I recorded video and watched it per frame (with veedub). Amount of time to get 3stage of incinerate was the same (71 frames) Is that support REALLY needed when you have cast speed increased from passives (and possibly from quality lmp/gmp)? 2. How to use purity of lightning? Is it necessary to spend more point to mana reservation, auras effect and inner force? Math of Exile needed...
Currently Lv55 in Cruel and this build rocks. One of the most annoying thing about playing this League is watching out for Corrupted Blood, but this build just doesn't care. Put Arctic Armour on and just kill the rare. These are my current gears:
I can't support Arctic Armour when I'm not attacking (yet) so I have to turn it on before I run into a room. |

How do you guys deal with the early level...squishiness? I can't put out too much DPS and I can only take a few hits.
Any tips will help... I live in the +8 Standard Timezone

Crest of Perandas is amazing for early game survival(I used it up to like level 55) and you can pick one up for 1 Chaos or less. I would also advise going for shield block and the life and mana nodes early on, as they will increase your survival a ton and are very point efficient.

" This is exactly what I did. Crest of Perandus (40% Block) + Stone of Lazhwar (50% of Block applied to Spell Block) provide excellent early game survivability. I'm in A2M and still using both of these and haven't had to use Life Leech yet (except on bosses, to be safe). The biggest issue I've faced moving to Merciless has been the frequency with which I'm stunned. I need to either get more HP, more block/stun recovery, or pickup Unwavering Stance. US would be easy to grab in 1-2 pts, but then I'd lose 15% evasion. Not quite sure it's worth it yet.
Funny thing is that is what I did too. I had them lying around and thought they were perfect... lol.

I started this build today and so far I got to a3 normal. my incinerate is pretty strong already, but Lightning Thorns just rapes me. I basically kill myself within 1-2 seconds due to my low lightning resistance (~30%). I have a little over 1k hp.
is that normal? ign: PhrozenFlame Last edited by cocomoloco on Nov 25, 2013, 7:41:58 AM

"Yes, it's ok. Don't kill them Update to my faster casting research. TLDR: ~25-30 cast speed increase is enough 1)I recorded video with casting incinerate 5 times with different cast speed increase. 2)Then I watched it per frames, 2.1 wrote index of "first" incinerate frame (when first fire particle appears) 2.2 wrote index of "first" stage 3 frame (when buff icon changes to "3") 2.3 calculated difference 3) Made chart (second sheet) Strange results, but... If I made no mistakes, then: 1) faster caster support can be removed 2) skill tree can be changed - as you can get 4%fcr from Alira, 6%fcr from harrier and up to 10 from quality lmp/gmp (anvil and cybil's paw give 0% average). 20 "auto" casting speed. Then you can spend 3point no nibleness cluster (12%fcr total) or 4 points to get Path of the Savant (9%fcr, 12%spell dmg, 20 mana, 20int) Last edited by alt0172 on Nov 25, 2013, 11:29:38 AM

" thank you for your response and your great work on faster casting. if your observations are correct this would be pretty huge as it saves a lot of passive points. ign: PhrozenFlame

" Yes. They will destroy you in the blink of an eye. Your choices are: 1) Avoid them. 2) Be on the lookout for thorns, play conservatively, pull small groups, etc. 3) Use another ability. I personally keep a Fire Trap with Increased Burning around just for the mages. Kite around and drop Fire Traps on them, they never move so the burning eats them up pretty quickly. Once mages are dead, incinerate away! |
