(Nov 3 - Euro-friendly) Three-hour Solo Turbo Hardcore Ladder Race
I still dont know how to kill Brutus in Turbo mode. Tried shadow, ranger and witch. Always die to Brutus...this time tried ranger with poison arrow and went for the evasion + life nodes side of the tree. Wasnt enough.
I spend 95% of the time just running around so i dont get hooked :| Would like to hear some tactics from you on how to kill Brutus in Turbo mode... |

I killed Brutus at level 8 and it was the only time I went down to less than 10% hp.
Desync sure makes him a challenge but not a too difficult challenge. This was my equip:

Not much to say this time really, very average race. Couple useful rare and blue drops, no alchs or chances, 10% move boots early a2. Brutus required a couple bails due to his desync cannon but went down eventually; merveil battle with max cold res was easy and unfun as always. No major desyncs or issues otherwise. I did make a couple moderate changes to my build that didnt pay out, and ended up wasting around 15 mins or so overall, which was enough to cost me 1st in class.
2nd place shadow and 5th overall in the end. Feedback: Brutus desync cannon turns the battle into a total diceroll in turbo. Might not have too much trouble, might get embedded in a wall, might get terminally desynced, might take triple attack or double slam and be destroyed with any amount of life and gear. Not sure theres much that can be done about this short of fixing the netcode or redesigning the entire battle (which isnt a problem on normal mode), but it thought id put it out there nonetheless. GG all, see you next race! IGN: KoTao

I decided to wait for lvl 2 before killing Hillock, not sure it was good. Hillock dropped absolutely amazing mace with 60% physical and 7% haste. I was rather unlucky with non-minor flask drops and the orb. My lack of practice started to show, as I did not know how to get past second level of prison without death before level 12.
Lvl17 and 5th templar. Could be more if I started farming the first level of cave without trying to progress. I used a portal scroll on Brutus (like everyone else did) yet I feel it is a cheesy tactic. Would be nice to see it removed in future patches. Thanks everyone. Есть один путь - найух! I'm just wondering, am I the only person that melees brutus? I get a lot of desync, but not in his fight, not normally anyway.

Brutus fight is ridiculous in turbo. Pure RNG for any class that has to get within range of his slam (if he slams twice in a row you're dead).
Had no movement speed boots until cruel hillock, but I did find 22% speed small health flask in twilight which I made the most of. I reached act2 and the choice was clear; Go cruel and risk death, or stay in western forest and win the race. I stuck with my original decision and went cruel for the fun and the challenge and happily I met my goal with killing Vaal around 2:23:00, almost identical to last time. Most of act 2 went very much the same as last time. I did have to go back to western forest to grind almost a level to hit 22 before doing Vaal. The Vaal fight itself went better for me and I felt much more in control than last time now that I had already experienced the fight once in turbo mode. Other than one time he decided to slam me twice in a row within 2 seconds, I wasn't really close to death. Also didn't have to use quite as many TPs as last time. As usual in these races, had many close calls, including an alt f4 to a rare merveil daughter (with zero dangerous mods, just additional life) that took me down to 100 hp in 2 ice sprays + froze me. Reached cruel, got 15%MS from hillock, realized there was no marauder before me, did medicine chest + dweller, got ledge, realized still no marauder before me, did fetid, which ironically was the most difficult with ton of undead charging rhoas. Back to ledge, level 25, spacke challenged me to pvp with 1 min remaining, wanted to accept but I was barred from PvP as I already completed normal. ;( Gear:

I gave my character to my brother and he managed to loot 39%res all unique and 60% wep 3 min after playing, so that motivated me a bit went from risky playing to faceroll About brutus, he slammed me 4 times in a row, I was surprised but maraulol ftw |
