What are the exact chances of each color of socket, based on item type? Based on limited experience, my guess (but it is only a guess) is this:

sockets have a 20% chance to be a particular color. That leaves 40% "left over" which is applied to the native type for the item. So a pure int item would have 60% blue, 20% red, 20% green. An int/str item would split the 40% between red and blue, giving 40% blue, 40% red, 20% green.

Again this is just a guess. Has somebody done the checking to see what the exact chances are? It would be really nice to get an estimate of how many chroms one would have to waste to get a particular combination.

Why isn't this thread stickied? It's so annoying to have to bookmark different amazing threads like this just because they are not stickied.

So I request this one to be 'sticky'.

I dont understand the prefixes & suffixes, for example this is a ilvl59 ES-Chest with only +7% ES.Can someone explain please :

that +7% is together with the 6% block and stun recovery and is a prefix under the energy shield and stun recovery section.

Hm I want to use a divine orb on this wand but one thing I don't understand is how can I know which values the mods take? Didn't find anywhere I could see that.

not all craftable rares have an intrinsic. no point saying 7 and confusing new players imo. should be clear enough that the intrinsic isn't part of the 6.

No idea as to the exact figures. Hybrid items in general, regardless of their item type tend to be able to get 2 off-colours pretty easily.

Eg. it's pretty easy to get RRGB on Ev/ES and GGRB on Ar/ES

It will roll sockets with random links and random colours with the colours being weighted towards the attribute type of the item. No relation to its predecessor whatsoever.

I'll try and add it in :)

o.o Eh? I checked out a youtube vid of someone rolling for 6L and came to quite different conclusions..

For one, when adding sockets, the predecessor socket colours never changed. Socket colours seem to be fair game if they've already been subtracted though. So the first socket always stays the same (unless there are 0 Socket items?..)

Links on the other hand felt more flexible, with links disappearing from a 2S to 3S conversion. Didn't quite notice them appearing though, so not quite sure the mechanic there.

So from the vids I concluded that, at least for colours, the direct predecessor makes a big difference.

The vid I looked up was by someone named POEPlayer (the vid in question touting a grand total of 184 views) but if you could check up on this it would be awesome. Don't think its an old version (standing in Act3) but I could always be wrong =/
I almost cry in the inside after watching Invalesco Mirror of myth trolls ._.

If the item was a 1S, using jewelers will result in at least 2S. in those cases, when adding sockets, the colour of the pre-existing 1 socket will not change. However, if from a 4S you roll it into a 1S and then back into a 4S again, the colours will likely be:

1. different
2. if similar, might be because of the base item: (pure int = blue sockets favoured)
3. if similar, purely a coincidence

I really *sorry*
Spoiler
fucking
*sorry* like it, but, I'm not english, so, I can't understand that too much.

So... I want to make a shield with +2 lvl to fire gem socketed.
At the Velkor's Mods Compendium says I can have a shield with +2 fire gem... it need be at last lvl 55.

All I want is the +2 fire gem.
1 - can I make it with lvl 67 shield? or just with lvl 55?

2 - all I need to do is:
2.a - take one shield (it can be "random"? how I know exact shield I need?);
2.b - transmute it and augment;
2.c - alteration and more alterations until I get the +2 fire gem?;
2.d - regal;
etc...

3 - how many alterations can I expect to spend?

Thanks, and, congrats.
very helpful of you inva!
