Some questions about orbs:
1. Does Chaos Orb reforges total number of mods as well as types of mods?
2. The same question for Alteration orb.
3. Does Regal orb changes mods item had? If no, then what is the meanig of this:
"Step 5: Out of the 3 mods it now has, does it have the two mods that you're looking for? If not, use an Orb of Scouring on it and start all over again from Step 1. If yes, congratulations! Proceed to Step 6."
If Regal does not change previous mods, then how that can happen? I mean, why do I need to check if "it have the two mods that you're looking for" if Regal does not change the two mods that i'm looking for?
4. There are some mods with item level 75. Does this mean that those mods currently does not work? (There is no gear of such level)

*sorry* like it, but, I'm not english, so, I can't understand that too much.

So... I want to make a shield with +2 lvl to fire gem socketed.
At the Velkor's Mods Compendium says I can have a shield with +2 fire gem... it need be at last lvl 55.

All I want is the +2 fire gem.
1 - can I make it with lvl 67 shield? or just with lvl 55?

2 - all I need to do is:
2.a - take one shield (it can be "random"? how I know exact shield I need?);
2.b - transmute it and augment;
2.c - alteration and more alterations until I get the +2 fire gem?;
2.d - regal;
etc...

3 - how many alterations can I expect to spend?

Thanks, and, congrats.

No worries :)

1. You can make it with any level shield with an itemlevel of 55 or higher. Click on the item, type /itemlevel and press enter to find out it's level. Even a level 1 shield with an itemlevel of 55 can get that mod.

2. Exactly.

3. It is very difficult to say, it is very much random but if you want the exact probability, you'll have to first check if:
3.a - the mod you want is a prefix or suffix
3.b - check how many kinds of prefixes/suffixes can spawn on an ileel 55 shield
3.c - for each type of prefix/suffix, check how many mod-levels can appear
3.d - once you find that out just divide 1 by the total number and you have ur probability

1. Yes
2. Alterations will change the types of mods as well as randomly changing the number as well, but in it's case it's only either 1 mod or 2 mods.
3. Regal Orb adds an additional mod on top of the pre-existing 2 mods (or 1 mod if you regal it as a 1 mod magic item)

Regal does not change previous mods. You usually regal an item if the pre-existing mods are desirable. Usually, out of the 2 mods, it is the prefix (if you're crafting defensive equipment) that people want. The other mod that can exist on a magic item is a suffix (which is sometimes irrelevant). If you regal the item, you can end up with a rare item that has 3 mods, 2 of which are prefixes. If the 2nd prefix that appears is one that you like, you can proceed on to the next few steps. If it isn't one that you like, you can scour and start all over again.

4. There is gear up to ilevel 79 now. Maps go up to level 77 now and rares/uniques in level 77 maps will drop ilevel 79 stuff.

What is the chances for 4L on a helm? I think my helm might be bugged because it has failed after 40+ fusing (I am actually keeping count now).

There was some other thread with a really good breakdown of chances on 5/6L from 6S and I think it should be added to this guide or if someone could link to it I would appreciate it.
Bro Invalesco,

I'm new to crafting so I'd like to pop in and ask a few questions as I'd recently acquired a white 5-L at a price.

I've used an alch + 3 chaos and I've gotten the rolls as below.

Seeing as Chests and the like have much less types of rolls to pull from unlike accessories, do you think I should continue playing the chaos game with the chest to roll out 5-6 stats on it, or keep the current 4 not too shabby rolled stats on it?

Is it hard to roll something like above? I was deciding whether to trade the exalts I have into more chaoses to "gamble" with it, but I'm really not sure it's a wise choice.

Fool

Contact me on either of the characters:) Prefarably the active one as I''m currently playing that!

Thank you for the answer. I have another question about rings\qulivers\belts\etc. Obviously there is no base high level items of that type. So how the orbs work in this case? I mean, what is max level of mods in this case? Whether it depends on my character level or not?
Quick question about Divine Orbs. I have

I love the helm and it has good stats (and currently good values) but I am looking for a +2 helm. I know divine orb will reroll all the stats and really any roll with those stats I would be fine with. My question is about the +1 to +2 roll. Is that one that occurs with the divine orb? Has anyone successfully completely a +1 to +2 minion divine orb roll?

Edit: The ILVL of the helm is 64 so it would seem unable to get the +2 minions roll. Sucks 1 ilvl away. So anyone want to buy a good helm?! :D

If the item was a 1S, using jewelers will result in at least 2S. in those cases, when adding sockets, the colour of the pre-existing 1 socket will not change. However, if from a 4S you roll it into a 1S and then back into a 4S again, the colours will likely be:

1. different
2. if similar, might be because of the base item: (pure int = blue sockets favoured)
3. if similar, purely a coincidence

Was referring more to when you roll from a 2socket item to a 3 or 4socket item.
It seems like the 2S->3S conversion wouldn't reroll the colours of the first 2 sockets for instance.

For another example of this, in the video I was looking at (200jewelers) While every other socket changed colours at one point or another, the first socket NEVER changed colour.

As the first socket is unique in that unlike the others it can never get deducted (and by the fact that it never changes colour) I concluded that sockets only change colour when they get added. So in an example of a 2S->3S conversion, the first two sockets would stay the same. Am I wrong? Haven't tried it out myself (not having much in terms of currency) but looking at youtube videos of people using jewelers it seems like the correct conclusion to make.
Does somebody have an easy to use list of lvl requirements for affixes ? For ex. i would like to know what item level i need to roll perfect stats on gloves. The affix list is almost useless for that purpose, i would think someone already did a tool for this eg. input the item type then it will show you waht level you need. Input item type and item level and it shows you what affixes you cant roll.

No idea about the actual chances, but I've taken from as few as 1 fusing to as many as 60 fusings before.

It isn't a bug, just RNG. Keep trying and you'll get it eventually :) Stubbornness is the hallmark of all successful crafters.

The base-level of that item is not that high, regardless of the ilevel. It's current mods are pretty decent for it's level. My advice is to save your orbs and use that item for now. You can definitely find an upgrade eventually. Not much point sinking orbs into an item that's not going to last you till end-game.

It depends on the itemlevel of the ring/quiver/belt. Click on the item, type /itemlevel and press enter. The max level of mods that can roll will depend on this itemlevel.

Refer to Crafting Rule Number 3

@boonism - Good job, you've gained more insight into itemlevels and the crafting process :)

Yes if you roll from 2S->3S, because the 2 sockets were already existing, the colours on those won't change. But if you roll from 2S->1S->3S, don't expect the first 2 sockets to remain the same colour that they were initially.

Velkor has made a list. I'm not sure as to the existence of such a tool. If so, that would be highly useful indeed. The link to the list is in Crafting Rule Number 2

So divine orb will only change stats within these ranges correct?

90-109% physical dam (Vicious mod)
7-10 min and 15-18 max add dam (Honed mod)
11-13% ias (Mastery mod)
30-34% global crit multi (Rage mod)

1) I just wanna make sure before using it. Seems like its worth/take chance using a divine orb on since the only real difference that can be made is on Vicious mod which is only at 96%.

2) Also is this 5 or 6 modded? Not sure if {spell + mana} is considered 1 or 2.

Thx.
