Your Crafting Resource Guide

Do the links each roll independently (apart from the constraint that the links can't stay the same)? If so, using a Fusing on a 6s has a 22/127 chance of rolling a 6l. That's a bit better than 1 in 6. Doesn't seem too bad to me.

If they've rigged it so that items with few links are more likely than many links, or there's some rule that means a set of links going in a loop are disallowed, the odds get much worse of course. For instance there are only 14 configurations for a 6l if loops are disallowed.

Personally I only save rares worth selling or that might be useful if I want to reroll my character. I only start saving sets for chaos if I have enough redundant rare rings/ammys/belts.

Whites, I only save 4Ls

Everything else I vendor for alteration shards.

I have no clue. For all my experience in fusing stuff, I have never yet seen any concrete pattern or probability.

Question. So I've got a 6L chest. Best thing to do is just spam chaos til I get decent stats and then MAYB exalt if I'm not dirt poor by then?
And is it still worth alch'ing every white lvl60+ drop?

is it better to make a normal item magic to find the right prefix than turn it to normal and use alchemy on it?

I'm curious to know exactly what mods an item can have on it. The wiki doesn't talk about it specifically. For example, I know Wake of Destruction is a Unique pair of boots, however, it does have elemental damage on it. Is it impossible to get elemental damage mods on boots? I know it seems that way for armor/helm, just not too sure about boots.

If it's a high level 6L chest, personally I'd prefer the alt-regal-exalt method. If not, chaos method is fine.

Personally, I only alch decent socket-ed items or rings/belts with perfect implicits.

Depends on what you're keeping them for! Vendor a completely unidentified set for 2 chaos orbs if you want.

Low level items - just alch
High level items - just alch unless you really really want a specific prefix and would rather have a magic item with that particular prefix than a rare without it.

None of the defensive pieces of gear other than uniques can have elemental damage. Belts can have the %elemental damage with weapons mod, and jewellery can have both that and +ele damage. I think I linked velkor's mod compendium in the original post somewhere. He has the list of mods that can spawn on different items i believe.

I see your list goes up to ilvl 69, the ilvl that can give higher rolls is it 74 or 75?
