Just did a test. 5.9K with 7 Frenzy Charges and Haste + Hatred. 6.8k with Increased Crit Strikes in 5L configuration :)

Nice DPS I am only hitting about 2.6k right now. What I was actually asking though (I guess I did not word it well) is what are the ideal 3 support gems to use with frenzy.

I'd go with what you are already linking for your Frenzy. Faster Attacks, Mana Leech and Inc Crit Damage.

Also thanks for this build it has been working pretty well. I am level 69 and currently spending currency like crazy trying to change my 6s chest into a 5L.

Asking for a ideal or expected DPS of a skill is rather moot. Any answer will depend on gear, passive tree and auras used by each player. It is more important to understand ideal support gem setup. If you want a reference figure for Frenzy DPS just to check where you stand that is fine but it wont tell you much more.

Frenzy 4L setup: Faster Attacks+Added Fire+Increased Critical Damage
- swap any of the supported skills for Mana Leech, obviously pick the one with least added DPS
- take note that 4L is the basic setup when I feel Frenzy is marginally better than Burning Arrow (Burning Arrow was more efficient in 3L setup)

Last but not least, do not craft 5L! Buy it for a fraction of what you spend on getting it yourself. Buying is always better and cheaper method of upgrading your gear unless you already have very good piece of gear that warrant spending lots of currency on getting 5 or 6 link.

FYI: My current Frenzy setup is Faster Attacks+Added Fire Damage+Increased Critical Damage+Increased Critical Strikes. Full Frenzy stacks (7) with Hatred and Haste aura give me 9.7k DPS. I can sustain my mana usage with 4% leech from gear and passive tree. I usually swap increased critical strikes for increased rarity for farming Docks, Lunaris Temple and most lvl66 maps.

You are right it is very gear / tree dependent but I am following this phys build pretty closely so was wondering on a reference. Obviously quality on my one gem will change things as well.

In regards to "buying" instead of crafting I don't quite buy into that so much as i got my chest for a decent price and would rather spend small amounts of money to get the 5L and maybe just get lucky and get a 6L instead. As a reference here is my chest piece.

I know people will probably yell at me for suggesting this but I will probably exalt it afterwards as well.
It is a solid chest, decent evasion and life and good resistances. I would surely go for 4L to get it usable--4L setup is good for most skills, your main DPS skill should be linked to 5L if possible.

I say it again, crafting is very tempting but it will most likely leave you broke and frustrated. Consider how much you can get for 1 Exalt in terms of gear? What if that Exalt gives you something useless such as stun & block recovery or +20 evasion?

Just keep a check on how much you spend in terms of currency. If you spend a few fusings here and there, that is fine. If you blow 100-150 to not get 5L after all, that is where you get on a track to get broke.

This. When I Exalted my own chestpiece, it was a calculated risk. I had 3 resists, high HP roll and an Evasion roll. The only remaining stats that could possibly roll is reflect damage, Evasion % and Evasion % + Stun Recovery. I got lucky when it rolled Evasion %, but it wasn't that high a roll. Still, almost 1k Evasion fro that piece, i'm pretty happy ^^

I don't remember how many fusings I used to 5L it, but it wasn't THAT many.

Another flaw - you don't mention that the HC version of this build skips all routes trough int - and it still requires the use of skill gems (supports) that needs a min of 52 int points to be added in a socket (concentrated effect)

and in the items guide for the softcore not a single mention is made about this lack of int from the passives and that one is supposed to get +int/attribute items to meet requirements of 2 main attacks - frenzy and RoA

Any workarounds on this by those who already passed early phases of this build - how did you cope for the lack of intelligence

Down level the gem I guess, put 1 Scouring and the Gem in the Sell portion of the vendors and they will give you a gem 1 lvl down. Don't put ALL your Scouring in the hope that it will be a quick way to downgrade the gem. Doesn't work that way. He will take all your Scouring and only give you a gem 1 level lower lol.

Or just use 2 Respec points to get the 2 big INT nodes that are in the build ^^ The full build does list does as taken anyhow :)

I am not getting frustrating with trying to fuse it. I have had 4L about 6 times already at least. I have probably burned about 30 fusing so far. Personally I think of it as an accomplishment and at this point I really do want to make it myself.

When trying to look for any 5L chest pieces with any decent stats it has been worth way more then an exalted. I think I have seen them going for 2+. I know I have burned 1 exalted already but I do not mind. I will figure out what possible rolls I have left though before exalting.

I'll be very happy though when I can use RoA on a 5L then I will worry about upgrading my weapon and getting a 5L on that as well.
First off, thanks so much for this guide. I am following it exactly. My most recent passives were fury bolts and the elem rez, next up are 3 life nodes below might, maybe, and then damage and crit nodes. Because concentrated effect is so good, i'm leaning towards all the damage nodes before the crit nodes.

Damage Check

I have reached Merciless Difficulty and I wanted to check my damage, see if it is what it should be.

Summary:
basic attack 410, with 5 frenzy charges 501, with hatred and 5 frenzy charges 597,
frenzy 758, with 5 frenzy charges 1401, with hatred and 5 frenzy charges 1611
RoA 735, with 5 frenzy charges 856, with hatred and 5 frenzy charges 1023

Frenzy - faster att - added fire - mana leech (just got - need to check if overkill)
RoA - faster att - conc effect - increased area
With 6% mana leech I can almost spam RoA or frenzy.

I went a slightly different route and went straight frenzy instead of crit

end up with 7 frenzy charges, using frenzy for both single and LMP, physical damage none the less and its working out great for me, really fun build.

here's my thread with build and gear, looking for advice on what to do next lvl63+
