It is a solid chest, decent evasion and life and good resistances. I would surely go for 4L to get it usable--4L setup is good for most skills, your main DPS skill should be linked to 5L if possible.

I say it again, crafting is very tempting but it will most likely leave you broke and frustrated. Consider how much you can get for 1 Exalt in terms of gear.

Although I agree crafting is usually bad, I think u are off on how much gear an exalted will get u. Been on trade channel lately? Nothing good goes less than 3 exalted and especially nothing 5 link even normal. Blood is in the water as far as the best stats and anyone high lvl enough to get ilvl 70+ won't sell for less.

Basically if ur not rich by now, ur screwed. Docks gear won't cut it.
I tried my luck Exalting this and got the flat Physical damage mod. I'm so happy @___@

Something like this would beat out the Broadstroke on the damage front :D

I tested :P

I doubt that the quiver Linkstatic posted would beat Broadstroke with half-decent weapon and stats. I found below quiver today, which give my hunter miniscule 15 dps increase over Broadstroke--that is with 3 offensive stats, crit chance, crit damage and accuracy, compared to 2 on the original quiver.

Also, quivers with crit chance/damage are only boosting portion of your attacks--those that crit. More critical damage also carries inherent risk when fightning physical damage reflect monsters. Furthermore, even moderately geared ranger focusing on crit will have enough crit damage that any crit will 1-shot white mobs. This effectively means that while adding more critical damage is increasing your calculated DPS, large portion of that increased DPS is wasted due to overkill.

Broadstroke is great quiver because it boots any and all damage output due to adding 30% from base physical damage (would have to verify this, anyone?) into each shot.

Shame the life roll is so low...

PS. I would keep Broadstroke unless you get significant increase in damage from using the rare quiver.

Burning arrow or ice shot? Which one has more dmg?

Thanks bro.

This is my weapon. My quiver still gives a SLIGHTLY higher DPS, + the other added stats as well :) But what you said is true regarding 1-shotting white mobs. Fortunately, white mobs account for a small portion of map mobs if you roll properly ^^

Also I'm not giving up 86HP and 34% cold resist + mana leech for a little higher average DPS when not critting :)

Should have posted at 46 like i said but I was 100% sure i wouldn't change equipment so here is the same at 53... I don't know if I should keep that helm or go for evasion one is 60-100 evasion more really that more beneficial than 37% all res?

And this Death Harp is getting worn out - served me well from lvl 32 - killed Vaal with it in less than 40sec - was nice all the way through normal and Act 1 maybe.. - everything died in 2 shots from RoA

Current Stats are

Res - 75% all Chaos -12%

HP varies - depending on what kind of jewelry I wear from 1100-1317 - the main thing is which of the below amulets to use - with the Carnage amulet I can play more relaxed without having to use Hpotions

The mana isn't a problem at all for RoA with mana leech and 12mana regen per sec...

Problem is - I can't stand in the middle of enemy group sorrounded by 20-30 mobs and rain arrows - they hit pretty hard...

DPS - RoA 440 with hatred Frenzy 400 without charges
Armor - 4700 with grace...

What should I go for first - in the tree - RT or get the evasion/damage nodes first?

Currently at 53 - just started Act 3 in Cruel-- after soloing Vaal

Tips are welcome - hope this post won't get unnoticed/ignored... After all only 2 HC rangers posted in this thread AFAIK

Throw in a Decoy Totem in there somewhere and your tanking problems go away :D Don't waste your time with Endurance Charges as a ranged character. I'd still wear Carnage, cos you're losing quite a lot from wearing the other amulets. 50+ is when you should start looking for bows with more than 150+ damage probably. If you can afford it, touch 200 if you can.

I have been working on a physical ranger utilizing frenzy, critical strike, evasion, and dodge.

I have searched this forum but I cannot find answers to my questions. How much life is enough for a softcore build like mine?

My current build plan would feature 176% to life. Is the following level 90 build viable? Am I headed for disaster?
