Hey guys just want to show a little bit about my physical ranger farming at Merciless Fellshrine, running Auras: Grace, Purity, Hatred

Currently sitting at 2.7k dps with full frenzy charges with frenzy, and 4.76 attack speed. Although my equips are not the best (not even average to say the least, RoA is only linked with faster attacks), I'm enjoying this build and my character very much.

i want to run the same 3 auras.

even with the reduced mana gem, how do you keep from running out of mana when using RoA/Frenzy?

and what are you cursing them with?

I'd like the know this aswell.. I guess he is using Mana Leech on both RoA and Frenzy, but that doesn't really seem to be enough Leech in my eyes :o

Perhaps he got a lot of Mana Leech on his gear?
Please post your gear ^_^
Hey VictorDoom

What Im Currently using is on 5 link is added fire+blood magic+spilt arrow+faster attacks+chain. Traded mana leech items out for life leech life stays up easily allows for more spam with a really fast attack speed as i ahve a 1.5 atk speed bow with high damage and found myself running out of mana alot.

Also Frenzy/elemental hit. The dps on elemental hit is 300 dps higher so what im thinking is getting 6 frenzy stacks then spamming elemental hit on certain maps and etc and depending on mob weakness over frenzy seems like it will do more dps. also using those 2 with blood magic instead of life leech allows for more auras. and the ele hit is only level 11 while the frenzy si 16

What do u think?

Question on Reflect.

Say I modified this build to use blood magic like my elemental build and used Life on Hit - would take care of any Phy reflect mobs from killing me? I currently have no issues with elemental reflect having 80% Resists, but I'm not sure if this build would behave in the same manner against phy reflect mobs. Thanks!

In fact, the only equip that has mana leech is one of my rings. I got a 2% mana leech from the ring, 3% gem linked with frenzy, none from passives, totalling with only 5%. RoA is only linked with faster attack, so no mana leech gem at all for it, it sustains itself by 2% entirely, with mobs of course. I curse with Projectile Weakness. You guys can pause the video at the beginning when I showed my stats to check the mana/life leech. I guess with enough dps, mana will not be an issue, since you don't see high dps people saying mana issues =P, because if you got 7k dps, even 2% mana leech is sufficient.

Physical reflect mobs/rares is a big problem on this build when you go mapping. The higher damageoutput/crit chance/crit multiplier you deal the higher chances you will be 1 shotted.

I'm thinking to go Vaal Pact to counter reflects.

Okay thanks, I think I'll stick with my elemental build. Amazing dps and great survivability :)

a quiver like that^ is actually better than broadstroke.

I was deciding if my own quiver was worth exchanging for Broadstroke, but looking at your post, I think mine's the same or better too? :)

Looks pretty good, you wont be missing the crits when you see other rangers go down to reflect mobs, saw a lot of people go to those(including me), thats why i picked RT.

Dps seems kind of low though probably a good idea to start taking more damage nodes now, after you get RT of course, Bow seems okaish but you will probably need something with higher physical damage than that for maps.

Everything looks pretty ok, keep us posted.

I was planning to move out of Crit, and I have just about enough points to reach RT after respeccing my crit points. However, I have 140+ STR, RT + Iron Grip (I'm assuming this is taken, cos it's the shortest way to get to RT) I get 28% Increased Physical Damage (140 / 10 (*2%)), would that actually deal more damage than the crit build? I'm thinking a big NO, but you do get to survive Reflect mobs.

Is this a good tradeoff? I'm almost at 500% Crit Multiplier, so my gear would be a little wasted with all that Crit Chance and Crit Multiplier. Your input would be awesome ^^ 30 Regrets ain't cheap, should I decide to respec back into Crit :P (I have 15 Crit Multiplier/Chance nodes to remove, and 15 points away from RT + IG)

My build would then look like this

I made a physical frenzy bow ranger too. Unfortunately, she's kind of fizzled out around Act 2 Merciless. I think I have quite a few bad nodes in my build (Build). I was thinking that the mana reduction nodes would let me use some nice linked supports on my frenzy, but they weren't effective enough. In fact, I think putting points into those instead of more physical damage may have caused the opposite. Because I had to go through the armor nodes and by Armor Master to get the reduction nodes, I figured I'd just wear strength-based armor. But it really isn't cutting it, and I think IR would have been better. So I think I'm gonna scrap this character and start with a new one.

Her gear (bow, helm (except Elemental Damage - should have been Life Gain on Hit), and haste gem were used, rest is for leveling):
Spoiler

But hey, if this character got me to Act 2 Merciless, further than I've been before, the next one should be even better.

The build isn't the same as the one in this thread, but I've taken some pointers from it, such as not grabbing the entire starting bow node. Hopefully it doesn't bite me if I don't take a bunch of crit passives.

40 Points
50 Points
60 Points
75 Points
90 Points

It seems good up until 90 points.

117 Points

But I'm not sure if I really need 300% life. I haven't experienced map play yet. I guess I have a while to figure it out.

Edit: Whoa. Not starting a new character. The Duelist tree changes should be coming soon and will likely feature a passive reset. I'll just wait until then and spec this character into something better. I was having no luck coming up with a decent name for her replacement anyway.

I dont think physical damage build without crit would be competitive. I was addid crit nodes only at the end of my build but I increasingly felt week at around lvl60--point where most flat damage increasing nodes and defensive passives are taken.

I have stayed away from critical hit damage nodes from passive talent tree on purpose. I only have 85% multiplier from passive tree, 50% native and 110% from a support gem. I rather go after critical strike chance nodes in passive tree because I want to score critical hits more often in general play. ti lets me survive critical hit on physical damage reflect mob if I'm careful. If I have 500% critical multiplier I would be dead in 1 critical hit-I still can 1-shot myself if I crit on rare and the shot pierce through and crit on another mob nearby.

The whole reflect on critical hit mechanic should be rewored. It makes crit-based builds very unfriendly and almost not viable. Elemental reflect is easily mitigated by resistances but armor simply does not provide the same mitigation for physical damage reflected back.
