Well, power charge is essential. Flat 2.5% chance to crit and if you using void batter thats 25% spell damage.

On Cruel physical damage is a lot better than a skill point. There is nothing you can take from the skill tree that can replace that.

On normal, well 1 skill point = 6% all resist so 8% resist is better but resist has a cap and you can get easily with items.
Mana is not needed.

Life has no cap and is your no1 survival. Biggest life node in skill tree is templar with 30 life and 10% life. Thats pretty much the only thing you can compare the 40 life.


The build will work with other bandit works. You will just be missing some dmg/life.

Well, all I can say is wow. Had a couple good caster Gems laying around and thought I would try the Witch, saw your build and think I may have fallen in love.

To date I had had only a Ranger and a Duelist of any advanced level, and neither of the have had nearly as easy of a time in Act 2. Ended up not even using the Gems I had laying about, L25 in Domination and kicking serious ass. :)

Other than the Cast on Damage triggers, do I just level all the Gems as I acquire them as far as I can? So far mana has been no issue with Clarity running, and 1 Mana Flask for the huge fights.

Glad you like the build.
Cast on damage is best to stay at level 1 so it can easily proc. The rest max them all.
For mana regen, you need about 192 mana per second to run a 6L EK + added fire, faster casting + life leech + power charge on crit + faster projectiles. It costs 109 mana.

In low regen maps I just use a mana leech gem.

I've been reading your guide (this EK one and the summoner one) since 0.11.6 and good to see that you've finally updated the guide for 1.0.

I have an ice spear CI witch as my 1st character pre patch with the following gears and now 102 respec points (kill all for the 3 bandits)

(also 2 moonsorrow)

do you think i can respec to an EK one following your passive tree?
I worry that i may not get enough life and armor for survivability as i play mostly in grp or public game

many thx in advance :)

Your worries are correct. You need armour to counter reflect.

So is there any other viable wand for this build?, as it seems prophecy wands are hugely expensive, and my liquid currency isn't much more than 2 Ex :/
