The rich get richer, the poor get screwed
" Thought I'd take a look at your poe statistics and you have no characters in top 15000 of any league. Do you play under a different account or something? I'm just curious because I really don't know people who flip in trade chat and have really high level characters because flipping takes too much time due to [stale link] for sale. The "Rich get richer" problem does exist in PoE, but I don't think item flipping has much to do with it.

" Did you just realize this now? It's people that play games, of course it'll reflect whatever happens in real life. Last edited by Veny#3250 on Sep 29, 2013, 1:34:22 AM

" I am very picky about character names. You can erase a character and reuse the name for a new character. I have had characters who were ranked very high before, but because I like to use the same names, I can only do so if I erase them and start a new one. Sometimes they have full resets for passives, and while I am rich enough to buy regrets... the problem is that skill resets do not refund the bandit quest skills. I have used the bandit skills from the last quest for many builds (The one that awards a frenzy charge, an endurance charge, or a power charge). I also have another account, but I use that one when I want to be left alone (I get massive pms on a daily basis since I am a clan lord of over 400 + members). Note: I don't care about being the highest level on ladder... I even erased a character that was lvl 90+ because I wanted to use the same name but on a different base character. I am also a Creative Writing major (with a degree in Business Administration). I actually have some character names I have invented myself, so yes... to me a name is important. My current character on SC is lvl 78 and almost 79; I've used his name many times now on SC and other leagues. Forgive me if this proclivity of mine is very odd to you, but it's just part of who I am. Side Note: Once you get to your 80s to mid 80s, leveling takes ages!!! Depending on how much time you invest daily, dying even one time can cost you the entire day's worth of exp. I also find that re-rolling sometimes nets me more profit than doing actual maps. I have a theory about this, but that's for some other time (it seems that RNG is either very nice to my re-rolls--or there's something more than just pure luck--but I remember finding exalts various times on re-rolls, while I can play my higher level characters on high level maps, and I won't find anything higher than a gcp for days or even a week at times for raw currency). ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ Last edited by Azarius#0884 on Sep 29, 2013, 2:02:16 AM

" I believe RMT is much more rampant than anyone may think. "FullyBlownDaddy"-FullBlownDaddy™

" I do not deny that some individuals engage in RMT; however, some people in this thread were using words/phrases that generalize rich people--that ALL rich people use RMT, and that is just not true. I myself believe that it takes the fun out of the game, and it is also against the rules. Some people extract fun from trying to get into the top 10 rankings on ladder; some people extract fun through crafting, flipping, etc; some people extract fun from just killing mobs; people will extract fun from various aspects of the game, but what is fun to one is not always fun for another. ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ Last edited by Azarius#0884 on Sep 29, 2013, 2:53:18 AM

" Don't gloat about hitting master league in sc2; spend enough time on it and it's hard to *not* end up there. (PoE gameplay isn't particularly difficult either, though.) IGN: SplitEpimorphism

Welcome to the world of bots. They run the world. lol

" I am not talking about lower ranks for Master. I am talking about being in the top .01% of Masters. There's a huge difference between a rank 1 Masters player (in a highly competitive division) vs a lower master. You obviously don't know how ranks work on Sc2, because each league only allows X% of the total player base to be in that league. I even got to play GMs a few times throughout my time playing Sc2, and 99.999% of Master league players will NEVER get to 1v1 a Grand Master even once in a million years. I wasn't gloating btw, and I was just making a point. BTW, TEAM MASTERS is not equal to 1v1 Masters, so do not confuse the two (2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 leagues are a joke, and many people can get carried by one STRONG team member). NOTE: There used to be a site (I am not sure if it still exists) that used to list the MMR (hidden rating) of every player given a ladder per league. I was one time in the top 50 players in the entire WORLD for Masters, so that means I was very close to becoming a GRAND MASTER (which is the top 200 players). To be in the top 50 Masters Globally means that I was in the top 250 players in the world, and I have also won real money going to tournaments twice now. Anyways... back on topic... ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐ Last edited by Azarius#0884 on Sep 29, 2013, 3:06:16 AM

This is why I will not do my masters degree in engineering physics but applied and computational mathematics with track financial mathematics instead.
