i have just a question:
is this kind of reave shadow good for pvp?

i think so. you reach your enemy fast with whirling blades, cannot be frozen, chilled or stunned and are immun to chaos dmg. also you attack fast so you could stun lock enemies that aren't immun to that. then you don't have to bring up charges to be able to fight or precast lots of auras during the duel.

You can also use Flicker Strike to reach enemies in PvP.

just once though. then you have to wait for the cooldown to go down since you dont have charges. i prefer whirling blades since you can also evade projectiles.

well they can be the same thing. the best defense is a good offense, etc..

the reason i ask is that it's difficult to get a good ES roll on gloves, although for the same price you would pay for virtuosities you can probably get a pretty decent pair.

so it seemed to me that you would give up some pretty good offense (the skill tree seems to give you a lowish crit chance) for not that great a defensive boost.

IMO, the carcass jack is the biggest problem. You can get _much_ better ES on different armor at the expense of needing that increased area of effect. You _have_ to have conc effect, huge damage boost.

minor note, i'm using damage on full life/life gain on hit/culling strike/whirling blades.

kind of nice to have a culling strike, i've used it to finish off things that were giving me trouble ;-)
i'm thinking i should replace LoH with life leech...

just wanted to say this is a great build. it supersedes a level 82 shadow i had which was quite meh, but which very fortunately left behind carcass jack and a decent claw (200 pdps). at level 69 this build is much stronger. i've already solo'ed kole a couple of times with all of 2k ES (i only have 4 of the ev/es nodes right now). vaal pact freaking rocks when you have 15% leech.

quick question Perz.

I've gotten a little confused as to what you are currently recommending for the "end game" build, or level 80+.

Stick with EV or are you using an armor/IR based build with US ?

I finally bought myself an eye of chayula and now i'm thinking i didn't need to :-(

realistically i'll need it for a while since i don't have the points to get to IR/US right now anyway.

Well, you can just use both, right?

Currently have an 88 Reave Duelist, wondering if this build would feasible to convert over to my Duelist?
It would take me 8 extra skill points to connect to the dex nodes that you grab to connect to Vaal Pact.. but I'm wondering if that would cause me to miss out on important skill points.

Hi this build looks pretty good,i will start a new char with it, i just have one question.Which ranged or aoe skills should i take in the beggining? Also can i take Freezing Pulse instead of Ice Spear,or there is a special reason why Ice Spear is there?I guess we take Cold skills because of Freeze?(Still kinda new to the game)

if you use carcass on the es build, you won't have any sources for high es except shield. thus you have to go for smaller sources such as the gloves. getting some ~200es gloves with acc or as is the best choice imo.

i used evasion until 89 and then i tried armor after that and it worked out great.

you could modify the life-base tree to start at the duelist. you won't miss out on key nodes then.

you can use fp to lvl up, sure. i only use ice spear to generate power charges with cast on dmg taken.

You can make it (ES build!) work for duelist, though it wont be so optimal, probably.
The main difference is that for duelist, you should get Unwavering Stance, since it's very close, and get a proper rare amulet. That will be much more efficient that using Eye of Chayula.
As a duelist, you'll get less damage nodes than shadow, but gain +2 to weapon range. A pity, it's useless for Reave. If you decide to use Alphas' Howl for Chill+Freeze Immunity, then you'll probably need to get Iron Reflexes as well. And if you dont want to use Alpha's howl, perhaps, you will want to get another path in your nodes?

If you dont mind having a few percent less DPS, then Duelist is fine.

Spectral throw is the best for leveling. Reave is also OK from the very beginning, if you have Multistrike for it.

on paper seems to be one of the most potential char!

I asked about the pvp because I did some tests with strangers not gone well. Absolutely depended on my poor equipment, and now I tried to improve it a little bit, what do you think?
obviously lacking armor and helmet.
unfortunately my damage is ridiculous, that's because I have not yet enormous economic possibilities, so I bought the best I could afford at this time.
PS: i love Perz's reave shadow!
PS2: the "gorgeous" ring is necessary for the strength...

how i would hate getting hit all the time by taking IR...

well I have a looong way to go (only 70) so the eye will be very useful, maybe.

here's the strange thing, in practice I don't appear to have a problem getting stunned. How is this a possible since every CI build I've ever seen warns about the problems with stun and calls for an eye of chayula ?

i have a much, much tougher time with freezing and especially getting chilled, but don't have the exalts for alpha's howl. BTW the skill tree will give you a 75% chance to avoid getting chilled. Is this actually useful in practice ? you get hit so many times with cold, especially by mobs it seems that it wouldn't make much difference, one of the attacks will always get through and chill you. IOW, should you try to spec those nodes without an alpha's ?

meanwhile my sapphire flask of heating is my _favorite_ flask. in fact I'm going to need to craft another one.
