One other question: how do you deal with vaal pact without ES? I thought about it and a life/evasion character must rely on life steal only correct?
yes, since there is no life regeneration with vaal pact.

Ok, I am in desperate need of help at the moment. I recently switched out of Invalesco's CI crit dagger build because I felt lightning strike was way too underpowered.
Yes, I know, it's a dagger build =\ however, the problem for me right now is not reflect mobs, but rather I keep getting 1 shot by bosses and areas with huge amounts of burst damage.
Stats (with hatred + grace, but no charges):
23k DPS (no charges), 33k with frenzy charges
88% chance to hit
51% crit chance
668% crit multiplier
10% life leech from blood rage (I'll switch in a life leech gem for phys reflect maps, granite flask is enough to deal with normal phys reflect mobs)
49% Evasion
4.7k ES
Max resists
Mana: 150 (430 reserved, so 580 total)
Gear:
Passive tree:
get more es (i.eg. from belt and gloves)

Very impressive guide! My question is considering your red skill gems, where do you get your strength to support them? The gear you've posted doesn't come close to the strength required. Do you just stop leveling the reds? Thanks!

so the virtuosities are not a _requirement_, i.e. giving them up won't hurt dps enough to cause issues due to lack of crit chance ?

I'm wondering this myself. I recently dumped a skill point in the +30 strength node just to get a little bump in order to handle molten shell.
Also, why no attack speed on gloves? Are the diminishing returns too much or is accuracy that much more important?
Love the build Perz! One of my favorite characters I've played thus far.
PM me if I win

check out what gems are worth lvling up. imo molten shell isn't. i get enough str from gear but if you don't you can just grab a +30 node that's on the way.
attack speed on gloves is good but it's hard to find good gloves with es (2-3 mods) + attack speed + accuracy.

no. survivability is more important than some crit and attack speed.

Hello Perz.
First of all i have to say that this build is my ABSOLUTELY favourit... and i have plenty of chars on 65+.
i want to ask you a question. is Carcass Jack THE chest item to go? or is a high ES 6L Regalia equal to it? hows the Damage boost from the carcass affix? (area dmg etc). So if im going Regalia, do i lose alot dps? im just curious cause im saving for a 6L but cant decide what to take!
Cheers

nice to hear deadmau5 (oh my god i love ghosts'n'stuff and strobe!).
no it is not. as for the es base version an armor with high es is a very good choice. for a pure es armor the colors might be hard to get so i suggest you get an es/ar or es/eva armor. but you may not use conc effect (without incr aoe) linked to reave in the armor because the aoe range will be too small then.

i think so. you reach your enemy fast with whirling blades, cannot be frozen, chilled or stunned and are immun to chaos dmg. also you attack fast so you could stun lock enemies that aren't immun to that. then you don't have to bring up charges to be able to fight or precast lots of auras during the duel.

You can also use Flicker Strike to reach enemies in PvP.
