The OP certainly could be structured in a way that clearly differentiates between mainly playing the game and mainly playing the <strike>stock exchange simulator</strike> trade chat/forum shop thing.

For the former, we have:
— MF-gear farming of any applicable areas;
— non-MF-gear farming of maps and bosses like Merveil/Piety, as well as rogue exiles found on the way;
— running act rush and boss kill services, gem leveling services;
— using the chaos recipe extensively (bringing items to 20% quality if the relevant parts of the set already have >10%);
— picking up and selling every magical item (brings an additional stack of alterations per hour easily);
— using the 5 chance orb recipe involving low-level uniques*;
— chancing the crazily expensive uniques in a way that makes failed attempts vendable for an alchemy orb**;
— chancing moderately expensive uniques with a high rate of usable output***;
— using alchs on >69 ilvl high implicit roll belts and jewelry, reusing the failed output in the chaos recipe;
— checking every single vendor at every level up for 3CL, 6S, 5L items.

For the latter, we have:
— setting up a shop, best of all with low-ish predefined buyouts for most items;
— flipping of expensive items;
— currency flipping****;
— market manipulation (price damping/gouging);
— investing into long-term trending currencies*****.

* — Useless crap like Bramblejack, Crown of Thorns, and the like, is best sold like thus: get the normal/magic/rare version of the unique in question, and sell everything together for 5 chance orbs. This is usable with every item that can't be sold higher than 1 alch easily, and only if your rate of wealth income is typically low enough to spend some 10 minutes getting the rare version of the item.
** — Take e.g. several white Siege Axes, bring them to 20% quality, set one aside and chance them until you get the first rare. If it's crap, sell it together with the white item and one of the magics, get an alchemy orb. Then set aside one more white and repeat the process until you stumble upon something valuable. I've done the math in one of threads, I don't remember where exactly, but it's somewhere in my post history. Items that undoubtedly pay off in long term when done this exact way are glorious plates, spine bows, siege axes, occultist vestments, and chain belts. Other items to consider: prophecy wands, maelstrom staves, void sceptres, and imperial bows.
*** — High ilvl, high implicit roll chain belts, sapphire rings, perhaps also gold rings, prismatic rings, amethyst rings, and onyx amulets. Failed attempts can be reused in the chaos recipe.
**** — Seems to be very important in any case, even if done at a slight apparent loss, since over time you'll get overstocked on low liquidity/usability/purchasing power currency: alchs, regrets, fuses (provided you aren't using them a lot), GCPs and so on, that are only useful in rare cases. You want your currency to retain its value and purchasing power so that you could either trade it for particular currency you need for crafting, or buy items. Alchs in particular can be flipped using the 5 chance orb recipe if necessary.
***** — Exalt prices tend to increase as more players are using them to roll maps and top-end gear, divine prices tend to increase with introduction of high-end uniques with very significant roll variations (Voltaxic Rift, Kongor's Undying Rage).

just strumbled across the tread. read the first post. and a few comments.

well its how it Works. sadly anyone, will take it to this extreme. ill recon u shud try acculy doing something decent for the human spieces, get laid and repreduce.

there is many ways to gain currency, without doing many of the methodes listed.

many of the "bad" systems i see here just make me sad. i wud recon my self to be pretty skilled and immune to currency balance tilting. but i have many ppl seeking my advice so when i see the effects on the trade i use half my day talking to ppl pm me for advice. a situation i cud take advandege of but dont.

anyways i belive its all up to each person to decide hes path. i wud just make a call that its possible to make currency by selling, Trading, and all kind of stuff without necessary leaving the other part of the deal with piss Down hes bag.

hope others feal the same way. and dont feal a need to push into the methodes, of especialy currency scam to effect market value. posting scam bids and co on items by freinds to push prices. thoes 2 are simply just ways that wud get u killed in real life.

last advice. knew ure flipper... i cud mention the standard League top 5-10 in sleep. regardless of there different account name and toons... the behavior of flippers are easyly spotted.

Since inexium is on probation he asked me to talk for him, i am his friend here is the proof i am.. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/527103/page/10 . He said that this is a very good summary Moozooh, i might come back to make a real unseen guide but i want you to make it yourself. First of all here is how i want you to divide the guide We need methods of gaining wealth who require weither To have multiple accounts VS Have a big stash ( pay to trade ) or mainly play the game VS play a little the game and trade a little or mainly play the market VS Trade only Put in the end a specific place describing evil traders in the end of the guide ( like fake bids, control of market etc ).

Notes
Mf gear on maps/bosses rogues is mch better than non mf gear
Gem leveling service looks nice, i had the idea, i asked someone but he said he has all sockets taken maybe a BoR /Tabula rasa user?
Some things cannot be done only if you are new and fresh, like taking magical items in the
road / doing the scrap or whetstones recipe
Checking every single vendor = Bad ! It takes Too much time

Be careful A shop with low-ish predefined buyouts = Easily losing an opportunity to sell a very good item for a very good price ( some rares can go 10EX+)
Investing into long-term trending currencies is one of the most important ones but i never did it, i never asked for only 1 currency ( asking for only chaos etc)
When 1 ex was worth 50+ chaos or 20 gcp on anarchy a clever thing to do was to sell them all exalts before prices go down again.. i did no do it,
So yeah you must keep in mind what are the rates in legacy leagues!

Most most important is to make a guide about what are good items and what are the one you should not even post in a shop ( like explaining what every What each build need in term of items and mods..etc ) in the end of the guide.

Check prices, if the price is lower than the buyer from buying forum than you can buy it and sell it back to that guy from forum.
You just won something.

If the price is not specified, you can ask the buyer what does he have in mind. And Whisper/PM sellers of that item.. to see if you can buy the item for cheap and ressel it to that guy and make profit. This behavior is called : FLIPPING ITEMS.

It's almost like businesses use a similar model to distribute goods from manufacturers...except that, you aren't working for a net quarterly profit...you're playing a VIDEO GAME.
Nobody cares how many items you "flipped", it just makes you sound like you care far too much about acquiring fake wealth in a game where new leagues make the currency and items, that you just spent all that time hoarding, pretty much worthless.

I might try it, but no promises there.
