Have a glimpse of the market and How to make wealth in PoE.

GCPs have been a bit of a loophole for a while now, at least in SC.

Trouble is that most GCP trades are very small volume.

It's FLIPPING CURRENCIES ( :s )

Example : You buy for 5 chaos 100 alterations ( 1 chaos = 20 alts )
Sell your alt to fusins in act 3. ( 12 fus and some alts left )
Sell the fus each 2 for 1 chaos ( You gain 6 chaos + some alts )
You would gain more if you bought more ..etc

( most boring one )

The guy from Onslaight, was buying ex all the day for 29 chaos and selling them for 30-31 chaos.

Don't tell people, you'll be made out to be a villain. See: This entire thread.
People want to tout it as a "convenience tax" when in all reality it's just trying to profit off other people for little to no effort.
i too fas fo youuuuuuu
Of course i will tell people! This is what this 20+ pages thread is here for.

Public question, how many hours per day are you playing/flipping ?
Another question, it's my thread who helped you open your eyes ?

1. Not much tbh. I just spam the channels then alt+tab and do my stuff. Exams are coming up in a month so obviously I won't be playing anything serious until then. So maybe I spam the trade every 10-15 minutes or so. Effectively, the time I spend in the game is less than 2 hours most definitely.

2. Yes inex it's your thread that showed me it's possible ;)

Glad! ( A lot of MMORPGS No lifers) know about this stuff, we new players of online games and old D2 players ( some of us) did never know it was possible to have an exalt in game. Now you know!

Sad information today, someone.. someone who became a friend throught this thread, did the mistake of forgetting to use an eternal on a gg carfted item.. he was upset he decide to quit the game for now :/ he game me all his items ( including 9 eternals and a 15+ex unique)

This is a nice and comprehensive thread, thanks for the effort.

Marketing in PoE has come natural to me, I did not make a fortune yet, but I managed to gear up my chars quite solid by my standards (two fully geared end game chars and one char I did not yet level but has gear waiting for in end game).

Many of the methods written down here do work.
One thought:
Flipping currency is exhausting for me to do exclusively, but I try to keep a variety of orbs in my stash, so when ever I see a tempting offer in trade chat I jump on it. But I have high doubts on orb flipping as an exclusive way to make profit. I see a lot of trade chat spam such as:
selling gcp for chaos/regret 1:3 /fus 1:6-7, does anyone really buy that? I would think not. Imo the only way to actually convert gcp to those orbs, at the mentioned rates, is if someone actually posts wanting to buy gcp at those rates or close to.

another thought:
At first I had problems understanding on what items I can make profit off, and naturally I started trading uniques - since they have the most established value. An example: you can buy a high roll midnight bargain for 1 ex, and sell it for 2-3 to a summoner for who this roll is an upgrade. Same stands for many uniques - especially build defining uniques such as quill rain (can buy a 5L for as low as 6-8 gcp and can sell easy for double that), searing touch and so on. Since there's limited availability for these items, at one point you need to start learning on which rares you can make a profit. And imo, this is a key trait of a good PoE marketeer. Many people have difficulties understanding synergy of mods on an item and how to calculate worth - and this is lucky since you can buy good items for cheap.

Oh you'd be surprise by how many people jump on my offer gcp 1:6 fusings. I sell average 50-70 gcps and I only spam a few times a day then alt+tab to do my own stuff.

@missuse : Welcome.

As you see there a lot of ways to gain wealth in poe.

There are even players who sell wisdoms ( they use : Perandus signet Rings = 3-6X more wisdom drops) for gcps and try to get wealth.
r3val4ti0n confirmed that currency flipping is possible. I never did it but even without r3val4ti0n contribution, i can tell you about that rmt guy who i reported but is still flipping them all the day.. if he does not stop then it's working!
I plan to make a price check service.. i am sure i could make some dozens of chaos's..

I even tried to do the : clear all areas Anarchy/onslaught challenge service ( did not work)

I guess it's like life, go grab opportunities.. idk you can make a game similar to D2 ? Make it Free and allow players to pay microtransactions ? Money(orbs) is outside, go grab it!

Gcps not tanking in value after the recipe indicates an item's intrinsic worth might not really be correlative to its trade value. Then again, not everyone is able to power grind them to level 20.

No, no believe me there a lot of "normal" players who have 500+ ex ( a lot = 10+ ) and they know the game, it's not like any rmt guy who just buy stuff quickly.

On SC or HC? It's obviously easier to gain wealth on Softcore ("free" multiboxing, abusing crit builds, etc.), since a dead farming character is just a temporary nuisance. I've seen HC players who seem to be on a similar scale of wealth possession, though. None of those have streamed the process of their wealth acquisition. PankO is perhaps the richest of those who have, and last I checked he was way below 500 exalts. He also mentioned most (if not all) of the tricks from the first post in his videos, and has been using them regularly.

Inexium wrote:
You must ask yourself a question : Why would he buy 3000ex+ ? He did not buy them by RMT.
Here is how he did :
http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/379840 among others things we don't know about.

No, he didn't buy 3000 exalts, he got them by selling randomly found 30 Kaom's Hearts and 6L Shavs.

Sarcasm aside, you know, since the start of OB there have been dozens of guys streaming their gameplay non-stop, including the MF runs. None that I'm aware of showed such extreme rates of wealth accumulation. Of course, there's the HC/SC situation involved here too, and it's indeed infinitely easier to find good things by playing on SC (both because you don't lose your good gear when you die, and because other people don't easily part with theirs), but I don't at all think he found all of those items just by playing and trading. They're absurdly rare, and 6-linking so many chestpieces takes similarly absurd amounts of fusing attempts.

I'm guessing botting or at the very least heavy-duty multiboxing, and most likely some d2jsp was involved at some point. It's literally impossible to accumulate otherwise.

Eternal orb is not useless

It's not useless when you already have something like this, i.e. a great base to start with:

When crafting from ground-up, however, it's been shown a number of times that eternal/exalt gives worse results per currency expenditure than chaos-spamming—especially for items with crazy stat pools. The "perfect" items take a lot more to craft than they're sold for afterwards.

As i said, i want to write a guide about it.
What i can share now is :
- It requires specific builds ( he told me earlier, the build is going to be broken because of Scion )
- It used the chaos recipe
- It requires VERY FAST map clearing.

If it's perfectly HC-viable and not spork totem, I'm interested. Otherwise, well, I suppose making a crit discharger on SC doesn't take too much effort, and it can surely one-shot anything you want with the right gear... There's even that YouTube video of a guy using an MF-specific RF crit Discharge build and one-shotting Piety.

Edit : Oh and about having fun in poe, what about supporting this funny idea, nonetheless a "fun" one:
http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/535144

Wow, that's... bizarre. Don't know what to make of that idea, it reminds me of MUGEN but I can't really picture how it should work and be balanced. Props for being creative, though I really don't think it's gonna make its way into the main game at any point unless Chris decides to support modding.
<Tyrfalger> Exactly, the next act is going outside Sarn and into those wheat fields (see the map) to become a farmer. Then we can spend our days endlessly farming. Wait a minute...
